Quello che in origine era un ricovero per il fieno, dopo un lungo lavoro di ricostruzione conservativa è oggi una moderna baita aperta sulle montagne.

Felder Alpin Lodge

One of the region’s only thatched roofs graces this Dolomites retreat. Sheep and goats roam the nearly 10 acres, and there’s a sauna along with a place to barbecue. There’s an original farmhouse and hay barn, parts of which are more than 500 years old, and a new house; an eclectic assemblage of furniture from around the world ties it all together. Chalet Vilaiet

Rocky Dolomite peaks surround this hillside home outside the village of Ortisei. The garden hosts a heated pool; inside, there’s a steam bath and sauna. Named for the words for hamlet and moment in the area’s historic Ladin language, and run by ski champion Isolde Kostner, the chalet is a textural mix of 3-D wood paneling and flower-like light fixtures.
