Atelier was inspired by painting holidays in France. It is a spacious studio at Hylands providing a base for escape, rest and adventure. It is cosy with a wood burner, uses high quality materials throughout, curated with love and care. Surrounded by beautiful gardens to explore, where you can dine al fresco or just sit and watch the wildlife and the ever changing views. It's 12 minutes walk to Kendal's many independent shops and restaurants, and 5 minutes to our local pub, the 'Riflemans Arms'.

Our hot tub for 6 is under a slate roof for use in all weathers. There are many walks from the door so you can leave your car at the house during your stay. Wansfell Holme is a beautiful Grade 2 Listed period house set in a perfect location in the Lake District National Park, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. We have incredible views over Lake Windermere (100 yards from the house), and there is easy access to the lake, woods and fells . In addition, Waterhead and Ambleside are within easy walking distance, and we are more or less central for visits to other parts of the Lake District by car.
