Fabulous round house on the west coast of Scotland

The DRUM at Dunmore is a stunning elliptical house with a sloping roof and high ceilings, clad in charred larch with orange window frames and painted wooden floors. Designed by architect Roderick James and built by a crack team of smashing local chaps, the Drum is a perfect bolt hole for two. It has a wood burning stove and a big squashy velvet sofa, floor to ceiling triple glazed windows and is nestled in woodland on a small estate (complete with castle) and just moments from the sea.

The Black House, Islay

The Black House is a unique property situated between Bruichladdich and Port Charlotte on the island of Islay. We use the house for High School to save commuting from Jura every day so don’t expect a pristine holiday let but rather a loved family space. There are 2 double beds and 2 bunk bedrooms (if you’re a party of single adults then 4 is the maximum number). Views are stunning and Islay’s great for whisky, wildlife or just rest and relaxation. Outside the cabin features a log fired hot tub with views over the Oa perfect for relaxing after a day of taking in the scenery or distillery tours, the gas BBQ and viewing deck will leave you feeling peaceful and content. Portbahn was our family home before moving to Jura, and we hope you'll find it as welcoming as we did. The Wee House

The Wee House is a one bedroom seafront cottage looking onto Port Ellen. Sleeping up to 4 guests with a sofa bed (full size double) in the living room. Listing price is for 2 guests sharing the bedroom. If the sofa bed is required for bookings of 2 guests please let us know as there is an extra charge (£10 per night). The cottage is within walking distance of local shops, pubs and restaurants and near to the distillery path taking you to Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg.

The Bowmore Pod sleeps up to 4 people, consisting of one bedroom with double bed, a toilet/shower room and a living area with double sofa bed and bunk beds. It also has a kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and table with 4 chairs. The pod is accessed through large patio doors which are perfect for enjoying the panoramic view. There is a large decking area in front with a picnic bench to enjoy dining al fresco.
