The MidKnight Bus~Trout Creek, Petting Zoo

Visitors will leave the hustle and bustle of reality behind as they cross a wooden bridge and step onto grounds reminiscent of some of the world’s most well-loved fairytales and stories. Guests will be charmed by the quirky Scottish double-decker bus many magical guests would expect to see zipping through tight spaces and stopping to rescue wizards and witches in a pinch.   We also have a petting zoo and certified trout creek on the property. Welcome to The Hideout! Stunning mountain views envelop this private mountaintop escape. Located just a few miles west of downtown Franklin and near the Appalachian Trail, this secluded retreat offers privacy in a wooded setting perfect for your next escape to the mountains. Guest suite is on the lower level of our split level home with separate entrance, private bath, and huge outdoor deck for watching the abundant forest wildlife and taking in the views. Splash, swim or just float around in the river. Take a nap on the the waterfront deck to the sounds of the river and birds. Enjoy some time in downtown shops, restaurants, and breweries as well. World class whitewater rafting on the Ocoee and Nantahala are just minutes away.

Nestled in the mountains of Hayesville NC you will find Owl’s Nest. A perfect retreat for 2 people, this one bedroom one bath apartment is located in the upper story of a large barn (no worries, as there are no animals below) . (Dry storage for motorcycles.) For those who love to fish there is a 2 acre stocked fishing pond with bass, catfish, sunfish & more (catch and release only), as well as approx 250’ of creek frontage on Tusquittee Creek for trout fishing.

We just added a new deck. Come enjoy the peace and quiet of mountains. There is fishing, white water rafting, golf and wineries. John Campbell Folk School is close by with music and classes. We are surrounded by mountain bike trails. We have added a bike wash and bikes can be stored inside.
