The bothy- peaceful country life near the sea

The bothy is a beautiful newly converted farm building located on the east mainland of Orkney. The property is in the countryside, surrounded by farmland and just along the road from one of several wonderful beaches in Deerness. Should you need any items for a baby like a carrier (any age), seat, snuzpod, cot/ cotbed, highchair, etc. Please let us know prior to your arrival, along with the age of the baby/toddler. We also have a 4 bedroom house next door should you need a bigger accommodation

Situated 3 miles from Kirkwall Town centre, with country walks from our doorstep, we offer the ideal spot to explore Orkney. We have free off road parking and an outdoor drying space. Please note: this property is accessed via stairs and no lifts etc are available.

Constructed in 2021 it has been purpose built to the highest modern standards. Conveniently situated, Skeir a Lidda is easy to get to and is a perfect base from which to explore the islands. New Horries is situated in the east of the Orkney Mainland (main Island), about 12 miles from KIrkwall, in the parish of Deerness, which is almost an Island accessible via a natural causeway (open all year round) between the meeting of the North Sea and North Atlantic Ocean to the south and by Deer Sound to the north. The property - an amalgam of Local, modern, ground floor set into the hill, and traditional Norwegian - and was designed and built by the owners, completed in 2011.

Trowietoon is a small cottage built in 1933, it is a quirky little cottage set a stones throw away from Newark Beach. It is a peaceful location and the perfect quiet getaway When the weather is stormy, the views of the beach are amazing, the raging sea crashing onto the shore, viewing from the cosy conservatory what more could you wish for Should you want to book less than the minimum nights required then please get in touch as this may still be possible

A stay at this flat gives you easy access on foot to Kirkwall's town centre and all it has to offer. If you are taking a car to explore further afield, there is also on site free parking. I hope that you enjoy your time in Orkney and that the flat has everything you need. The flat is literally just around the corner from the fantastic Rendall's Bakery, the Willow's Chinese Takeaway and chip shop, and the Wellpark Garden Centre and Willows Coffee shop!
