Vad du kommer att göra

Let's dress up in a genuine KIMONO feeling Japan's traditional dignity. You can choose from plentiful color variations and sizies of Kimono, even big size (Women 150-180cm; Men 160-190cm). Summer time, I will prepare Kyoto brand yukata. But if you want to wear real kimono, you can try it inside the room.(outside is really hot)
After dressing up, we will go to nearby Shibamata Taisyakuten Temple(known as the location of Japanese movie films.)It is a simple, local, quiet temple with wonderful garden and Buddhist sculptures carved throughout. Here on weekdays it is really calm and we can enjoy amazing art to our hearts content and take a lot of pictures of you wearing a kimono with the back of the temple garden.
The Shibamata approach road is lined with shops selling delicious foods and souvenirs and people offers friendly and warm voices to you. And let's have a Tea Break dressing up in a Kimono in my house. You can enjoy green tea with Japanese sweets.
From now on, I will give special consideration to safety, and I will try to learn and enjoy Japanese life by using my traditional Japanese house. Knowing the culture of Japanese life is very important in aiming for a world that protects others.
This summer I got a lot of kimono from my husband's friend. I would love to give it to my guests. Please come if you want.

I feel that what we need now is a sense of crisis, from which we need to test the wisdom of how to protect ourselves. We are misled by various things, and we are anxious or frightened by being swayed by online information and media, but in the end it is the certainty of our hearts, straight attitude and sincere thoughts. The world is turning. Perhaps the modern industrial world is obsessed with “doing something in life,” and it may be the lack of cultural elements that makes us selfish and inhuman. If rich cultural elements are given from childhood, humans will be more it may be possible to take a complicated approach and cherish various things. The most important thing is to believe in yourself and how much experience you can believe in. How to live from now on, where is the peace of mind? In my way I want to think about it with you.

Var ni kommer att vara

Let's meet at Kimono Dressing shop KOTI (my house) 2 min on foot from Keisei-Takasago station of the Keisei-Oshiage line.
After dressing up, we will go out and take a train for one stop to Shibamata station, and explore Shibamata Taisyakuten temple. There are wonderful garden and many Buddhist sculptures, and on weekdays you can take lots of beautiful pictures in a quiet temple.
Finally I have a tea ceremony experience in my house.

The kimono in Ikuyo san’s place are very high end with high quality. She was so nice and so patient to help us chose the kimono that fit us and look good on us. The location is in a very nice neighborhood, really recommend to come in Sakura blossom and Mumiji season. We were so sorry that we unfold so many Komono that we couldn’t help to clean up. Anyway, really recommended!

For me and my friend this day that we spent at Ikuyo-sans place was nothing short of magical. We both agree that this was the most wonderful experience we've had ever since coming to Japan. Considering the fact that we've had quite a few delightful experiences during the past 10 months of our exchange year here so this is the highest praise we can give. Since my friend an I are both about 5' 8ft tall we were always worried about not finding a Kimono in our size. But thanks to Ikuyo-san, we were able to not only wear breathtakingly beautiful Kimonos, but Yukatas as well. The number of Kimonos, Yukatas, Obis etc. Ikuyo-san has assembled over the years was so overwhelming that it took each of us about an hour to assemble our outfits. But instead of being rushed we received lot's of advice and help from both Ikuyo-san and her husband all the while being thought about the different kinds of Kimonos, the occasions on which they are worn and how to fold and clean them. Then, while one of us got dressed by Ikuyo-san the other had a marvellous time talking to Ikuyo-sans lovely husband while  searching for hair accessories and a fan which would go well with the beautiful Kimono. Once we'd put the Kimono on we joined the two for a traditional tea ceremony and visited their traditional Japanese style room that hosts an actual samurai armor (how cool ist that!?). Next, we put on the Yukatas and took a stroll to a nearby temple in the smoldering heat. Whenever we thought this experience couldn't possibly get any better Ikuyo-san surprised us by buying us ice cream or by presenting both of us with actual traditional Japanese clothing at the end of the day!!! Needless to say that we were completely overwhelmed  by so much genuine kindness (we spent the rest of the day in a complete haze, not able to stop smiling). This was an experience none of us will ever forget and we sincerely advise anyone who has an interest in Japanese culture and Kimonos to book this experience. Let's help Ikuyo-san to keep this experience alive!!

This was a Brilliant Experience. The host Ikuyo and her husband were so helpful and both were interested in making my experience a memorable one. The selection of Kimonos are outstanding and all the preparation that goes into actually being fitted out is truly worth experiencing. It was lovely to be able to try out the tea ceremony and learn about some of the rituals. The trip to the Temple is a highlight and one I would never have found. Many laughs were had and cultural highlights exchanged. I cannot Thank Ikuyo and her husband enough for all their hospitality and friendship.

I will remember this experience my whole life. Ikuyo and her husband were the nicest, most welcoming hosts. They made us feel part of their family. You can tell Ikuyo is so passionate about kimonos and keeping that tradition alive in Japan. We spent the day walking around the city with her, immersing in the local culture. We both shared stories about our lives and families. I look forward to visiting Japan again and will be sure to see Ikuyo again!
