Enjoy the sounds and sights of nature when you stay in this unique place. Our small house is our place of respite as we develop our farm. It is full of many luxuries and a well appointed kitchen to allow for a very comfortable stay. There are views of our farm and the surrounding area from every window and the window above the bed is perfect for stargazing at night from the comfort of your bed. We have many animals on including water buffalo, goats, pigs, and chickens so always something to see.

We are next to a >1400 acre nature preserve with 5 miles of trails. Appalachian Trail (McAfee Knob), Blue Ridge Highway, Smith Mountain Lake, James River, wineries, breweries, shopping are close by. 18 min to Roanoke College and 40 minutes to Virginia Tech. The lake level may be low=but you can still relax at this peaceful waterfront retreat. Kayak, paddleboard, swim, fish, or just sit on the sandy beach. Rent a boat or jet ski nearby or enjoy one of the fun local restaurants. This lower level apartment has easy parking and is just steps from the water. The unit has a mini kitchen with refrig, microwave, and toaster oven. 600+ square feet. Wifi and tv. Free use of kayak or give the paddleboard a try. Life vests are available.

The cottage is about a mile to Philpott Lake, the perfect place to fish , go out on a boat, or kayak. there are hiking trails near by.
