The Bothy

Experience a stay in original farm workers lodgings. The Bothy has been renovated to provide bespoke, accommodation with a modern twist. The original stonework of this 350 year old building has been left naked in places, allowing you to soak up its historic past. Original oak beams span the combined living/sleeping area that has a king sized oak framed bed. Enjoy a refreshing power shower, then close the shutters, settle down & cozy up for the evening in front of a roaring log burning stove.

This hidden gem provides a couples retreat with use of private hot-tub. Offering peace and tranquillity in a spacious modern setting. The Barn and adjoining house are over 300 years old the property being a former Gincase We are located in a small hamlet yet close to the local ammenities found in Cockermouth, Carlisle and the Harbour Town of Maryport, ideal for exploring the Solway Firth with views over to Scotland with its beautiful sandy beaches or perfect for visiting the Lakes and Fells.

We are close to The Solway Coast and the Lake District National Park. Just a 10 minute drive takes you to the Solway Heritage Coast - Roman remains, coastal walks, long deserted sandy beaches, sand dunes and best ever ice cream! 10 minutes in the opposite direction takes you to the Lake District National Park - fells, lakes, hills, walking, cycling, paragliding, hound trailing, beer, farmers markets, restaurants, cafes...great little villages and towns ...we tell you more once you've booked!

Charming, cosy Salkeld Cottage

Salkeld Cottage is in the village of Gilcrux, near Cockermouth and situated between the Solway coast & Lake District park, ideal for walkers & pet owners. There is a local pub withing walking distance. The cottage is part of a barn conversion along with 5 other cottages which accommodate 1 couple each. It features an open fire, four poster bed and steam cubicle. Guests can privately hire the hydro therapy hot tub (Please see other details to note for information on booking the hot tub)

Newcroft Shepherd’s Hut

Beautiful new bespoke Shepherds Hut, situated in an iydillic, peaceful location with views over the Solway Firth & Criffel. The Hut is equipped with everything needed to ensure an amazing, memorable stay in luxurious accommodation with comfy sofa, living flame electric fire, electric radiators and TV. There is an additional outside seating area, please ask in advance if the BBQ is required. There is Tea, Coffee, Sugar and Milk provided in the Shepherds Hut. Sorry, no children.

Our cedarwood lodge has been designed and built for our family and friends to use when they visit. It is in a rural setting about 4 miles outside the market town of Cockermouth but is actually located in the Lake District National Park with stunning views over the fells, Binsey, Skiddaw, Bassenthwaite Lake and Keswick. The lodge has been designed to make the most of those idyllic views and is a retreat for anyone wanting to relax, unwind and enjoy our “world Heritage” status.

The hut is set in the middle of a family farm, forget about your busy lives and sit back and relax in this peaceful location ideal for a romantic retreat, with views up the Lorton valley ,cozy up into front of the wood burning stove and plan your adventure for the next day. The hut has no electricity but has solar lights, and a separate composting toilet, all bed linen is provide along with wood for the stove. A breakfast hamper will be delivered to your door in the morning

Lakes cottage with stunning view & private hot tub

Welcome to Highside a delightful cottage set in a secluded location overlooking the tranquil village of Lorton. Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

Swan Cottage - 5 min drive to the Lake District

A welcoming 2-bedroom cottage in the village of Bothel, ideal for couples and small families. Set just outside the Lake District National Park, it features a Superking bedroom, twin room, log burner, fully equipped kitchen, and Wi-Fi. A relaxing base for exploring the northern Lakes, with Keswick, Bassenthwaite, and Cockermouth all nearby. Dog-friendly and homely, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of adventure or gentle walks.

Toddell Barn

Toddell Barn forms part of our traditional Lakeland longhouse farm, built in approximately 1710. Toddell Barn sits within approximately 7 acres of agricultural land that helps attract a wide variety of wildlife. Toddell Barn is located in the hamlet of Brandlingill (2 miles south of Cockermouth) and is within the northern boundary of The Lake District National Park, categorised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.
