The Acorn Guest House

The Acorn Guest House is a two-level, self-contained accommodation located 2 minutes from the ferry landing in Balfour, BC and only 30 minutes from Nelson. Features include a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms with queen beds, 1 ½ baths, a washer and dryer, patio and balcony, fire pit, and plenty of free parking with room for RV's or Trailers. Beautiful Soaker Tub, King Bed, and Comfy Space

I have endeavored to create a comfortable space that provides a wonderful base for adventuring. The walls are covered in local art, I love showcasing local artisans. Paintings are reminiscent of Nelson and are for sale. The beautiful king sized bed and live edge wood counters are taken from sustainably harvested trees and created by a local craftsman. The upstairs is spacious and features a wood burning stove. The downstairs is a beautiful grotto bathroom with a sunken tub big enough for two.

The Art Studio downtown

Our Grandpa Max built this eclectic space onto the back of his heritage home in the 1970s as an art studio and woodworking shop. Now we host travelers in this mid-century meets modern Scandi suite. The downtown core is only one block away but the studio is located on a quiet residential street backing on to green-space. Grocery store, coffee shops, restaurants, park with a lookout and the theatre are all within blocks. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and ski bums!

By the Lake

By the Lake is a welcoming, private suite situated in a beautiful, modern waterfront home with a stunning view over the lake and a lovely garden with a hot tub. Five minutes drive from downtown and 15 minutes from Whitewater ski area, provides refreshing hikes and skiing opportunities close by. Close access to shopping and restaurants. John's Walk lakeside path passes right by the house, leading you to attractive Lakeside Park. Our beach provides a peaceful spot to relax on the lake shore.

A Peaceful and Private Studio Suite

A beautiful suite nestled in nature. It is located just outside of Balfour with access to the ferry landing, balfour store, a gas station and bakery. Ainsworth Hotsprings is a short 15 min drive, Kokanee Creek Provincial Park is 10 minutes away and Balfour Golf Course is even closer! Nelson and all its amenities is about a 25 minute jaunt. 4 wheel drive is recommended during winter weather as the last little stretch is a little steeper. Winter weather can be unpredictable.

The Casita is a cozy tiny home. Located just outside Salmo on a 54 acre property with private trails. Easy drive to Nelson, Whitewater, Castlegar, Fruitvale, Trail and Kootenay Pass. Perfect for a single person or couple as a base for your next Kootenay adventure. Features one bedroom with Queen size bed, kitchen with 2 burner induction stovetop, toaster oven and bar fridge. *Bathroom located a short distance from Casita (outdoor entrance attached to our home).

Lakeview Lane Guest suite

A great spot to park your gear and enjoy the lake view after a long day of play! This is a recently renovated guest basement suite in a home just minutes from the beach and Nelson. Our 1 bedroom space is completely self-contained and has it's own covered parking space and private entrance. There's a large front yard for guests to use, and locally-famous hiking trails near by. Although we don't have pets of our own, we welcome well-behaved fur babies.
