AWD isn't needed (our Nissan Altima does great) It can be intimidating at first, but you will conquer and in no time enjoy the challenge! The cabin is in a mountain community called Ocona Lake Estates. Located 5 miles from Bryson City and 5 miles from Cherokee NC/ Oconaluftee Visitor. Catoloochee Ski resort is 18 miles.

Central to the areas activities, the days can seem short with easy access to Fontana Lake, the Appalachian Trail, Tsali Recreation Area, Nantahala Outdoor Center, Nantahala Gorge, & the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Stay in our rustic, cozy, tiny cabin, The Hawks Nest, tucked into the woods on our remote 162 acre farm. Far away from the crowds but close to hiking and rafting in Cosby, the Adventurous side of the Smokies awaits! The Farm at Stillwater Sanctuary is a beautiful space, with five horses and a mule, farm dogs, chickens and ducks with farm fresh eggs when available upon arrival, a fire pit, hiking trails and a pond to swim in on hot summer days.
