The Purple Passionfruit Cottage has small kitchenette (range, oven, mini-fridge/freezer, microwave), full bathroom and two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king bed and an attached lanai with a ocean view. The other bedroom doubles as a living room with one twin bed. Enjoy the pool, rainforest trail, steam vents, volcanic hot spring tubs and private retreat setting surrounded by forest. Located in rural Kalapana Seaview neighborhood. Nearest store 10 mins, town with services is Pahoa, 20 mins away. Hilo, 45-60 minutes away. Volcano Park 1 hour. All of island accessible for day trips.

Surrounded by orchids and other tropical flowers, the cottage is located on two lovely landscaped acres - 30 minutes from Hilo or Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The property is solar powered, an off-grid sustainable system with 4G phone service and fiber optic wifi. The last two miles are on unpaved gravel road in variable condition depending upon how much rain we've had lately. Four wheel drive isn't necessary but an SUV or similar vehicle with higher clearance is recommended.

This house was built by my grandfather 30 years ago, and has retained the charm and warmth that he crafted into this cozy cottage.
