Hegranes guesthouse on a farm

We would like to welcome you to come and stay in our lovely guesthouse at our farm in the heart of Skagafjordur. Here you can relax and enjoy your evening in our hot tub, take a walk to visit our calm and gentle horses, we also own a beautiful lake and we are "forest farmers" i.e. we plant 10.000 trees each year and we can highly recommend a stroll through our young forest to the lake. There will be sheep, chicken, cats and dogs around and next to the house there is a beautiful old church:)

The house is spacious, with an open kitchen and beautiful countryside living room. It's located on private land with incredible views in all directions. The drive from Reykjavík is 1.5 hours and is very close to many popular tourist attractions such as Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss, Thorsmork, Westman Islands and 1 hour 30 minutes from Gullfoss and Geysir. We also have high speed wifi and laundry facilities on the premises. Lastly, there is a veranda surrounding 3 sides of the property.

It is perfectly situated in the well-known Golden Circle, Geysir, Gullfoss Waterfall and Thingvellir National Park, and is only 1.2 miles from the famous landmark Kerið Crater.

The Black Barn

Guests have access to the entire apartment. You need a car, there are no public transport to our place. There is a key box located on the post on the patio wall. There are extra blankets in the drawers located in the sleep loft. If we can help in any way, like giving some advice and recommendations regarding the stay in Iceland you are welcome to ask us. Perfect stay for exploring south Iceland and enjoy nature and the northern lights in winter. Beautiful cabin by the river Hvítá in a prime location in the Golden Circle( only 3 minutes drive from road 30) near Gullfoss and Geysir (15 minute drive) and only 106 km to the capital city Reykjavík. The cabin can accommodate 4 persons.
