This pond-side cottage is a peaceful place to relax and unwind. Sit on the enclosed porch and watch the water or enjoy the front porch swing where you can listen to the birds and frogs. We are 12 min. from downtown Sumter and 20 min from Shaw AFB. Local points of interest are Swan Lake Iris Gardens and Poinsett State Park. It is only 2 hours to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, SC & 3 hrs to the mtns. While it is conveniently located, this cottage offers a quiet place to put your feet up and rest.

While in Southport, enjoy the shops, the majestic Live Oaks, dine at fabulous cafes & restaurants with water views, take a carriage ride, watch the boats go by, go on a ghost walk or tour a museum. Southport has something for eveyone!

The Artist's Cottage

Guests must be 21 or older. Two guest max!!! Also, I get a lot of requests for small pets. Due to safety and health concerns, I cannot accommodate any pets at all. That includes service or support animals. I live on the property in the main house. Cottage is behind house. No 3rd party booking allowed. The person checking in must be the person that booked and the person that's name is on the account. If you are interested in booking the cottage. No smoking/vaping of anything inside cottage.

The Historic Backdoor Cottage in Southport, NC

The charming Backdoor Cottage is located in the Historic District of Southport, NC. It's named the Backdoor Cottage because you park and enter through the backdoor into the living space. It is within walking distance of the whole Historic District including the waterfront, restaurants, shops, churches and art galleries. Much of the art work in the cottage was done by local artists. Come enjoy our slice of heaven, the Coastal Carolina Cottage. This chic space offers an updated, open living area which is perfect for gathering. Our space also includes a spacious fenced in yard and lovely patio. The cottage is nestled in Vista Cay Village. We are centrally located near Emerald Isle, Hammocks Beach State Park, Camp Lejeune, Croatan National Forest, and historic downtown Swansboro. Lastly, we are a veteran owned and operated business. Fishing this winter has been 🔥! Pick your adventure in this 1-of-a-kind cottage on the Masonboro Island Estuarine Reserve. Get your SUP or kayak ‘on’ and in just a 300m paddle (5 min) you can be lounging on one of the dozens of secluded tiny islands off our dock. Make the ~20 min paddle to experience the unspoilt beauty of Masonboro Island’s pristine, 9 mile white sand beach. Or chill on the dock and take in the jaw dropping views with a glass of wine.

Cottage is 2 bedroom, 2 bath with hardwood floors, stainless appliances, screened porch and deck for grilling. Linens are provided with washer/dryer in home. Each bedroom has attached private bath for privacy. Beach is 10 minute walk over the nature bridge behind the Rec center. If you want to drive to beach- .5 miles to 40th street public access. This property is perfect for a small family or 2 couples to share. NO PETS. NO SMOKING PLEASE
