The Birch ply interior, wool carpet and heat pump create a warm and cosy vibe. The Barn is set in a rural landscape overlooking a lovely large pond inhabited by local birdlife. Approx 10-15 mins drive from Dunedin city centre and 3 mins to historic Port Chalmers and some of the best beaches and coastal scenery Otago has to offer all nearby.

Want to stay in a Home away from home? We would love to share our holiday Beach House with you. This spacious home has all the creature comforts of home with the bonus of a beach 5 min walk away. Bike, Walk, Run to the beach and enjoy all it has to offer. 25min Drive to Dunedin. PLEASE NOTE One of the bedrooms is accessed through the master bedroom (this is the room we have set with baby/kid's floor house beds) The second bedroom has a set of bunks - Top bunk only suitable for child/pre teen.

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life at Karaka Alpaca Farm stay, just 15min from Dunedin's CBD. Our 11-acre farm has alpacas, Buster the cat, horses and sheep as well as stunning views over the cliffs of the Pacific Ocean. Located less than a 5 min drive to Dunedin’s iconic Tunnel beach, where you can explore rocky coastlines and a hand carved rock tunnel. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Totally private, cosy beach house equipped with all the creature comforts and only steps away from direct access to a gorgeous, prestine beach. Nature at its best will offer views of incredible sea lions while out on your beach walk but be mindful to respect their space for your safety and theirs. Accommodation suitable for adults only. If you do not drive and will be taking buses this might not be suitable accommodation.

Lovely Historic School, Karitane

Our unique stand alone studio is a small, historic, renovated school, close to the village of Karitane. The school has everything you need for a warm, comfortable stay. There are books, a CD player and games for your use. We live in a repurposed sheep shearing shed nearby and both buildings are surrounded by extensive gardens and plantings. There are panoramic views of the very picturesque coast line and out to sea. It is very peaceful and private.

Merton Park farmstay

We are a small self sufficient farm with friendly goats, donkeys, alpacas and cattle. We have free range chickens in the orchard and ducks on the pond. We grow much of our own fruit and vegetables. We have 87 acres of hillside you are welcome to explore. Right on the main road, but peaceful and private, we are only 30 minutes' drive from Dunedin city centre, and 10 minutes from delightful beaches, friendly villages, and a bird sanctuary.

Coastal Soul | Getaway Near Dunedin & Ocean Views

Coastal Soul came into existence when my husband living at home with Alzheimers and I felt I needed to have something else in my life as well. Our little unit/cottage where a family friend had been living became vacant and I had the perfect recipe for looking after my soul, redecorate and give the cottage a new lease in life as well as myself, unfortunately my husband has passed on but his memory will always be part of the cottage.
