Located in scenic Avery County, secluded yet close to town, Alpenhaus is located at over 4000 ft. The house features 2 enclosed decks and is surrounded by woods on 3 sides. Wake up to green trees outside your bedroom window or watch the sunrise reflected on the mountains. Look out for foxes as you enjoy breakfast on the south facing deck. In autumn, watch the leaves change from green to hues of red and gold. Enjoy a game of golf at Mountain Glen Golf Club or take a short drive to Grandfather Mountain or Linville Falls, drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway or go hiking or rafting, see the stalactites at Linville Caverns and then come back to appreciate the sunset from the living room window. In winter, enjoy a day of skiing or sledding at nearby Beech Mountain or Sugar Mountain. Jonas Ridge Snow Tubing is also nearby. Return home, build a snowman and enjoy the gas log fireplace which takes the mountain chill off the evenings. Experience our fully appointed kitchen if you choose to eat in or venture out to local restaurants in nearby Linville, Banner Elk, Boone, or even Asheville. Enjoy the Wooly Worm Festival, Valle Crucis Fair, Music on the Mountaintop, Land of OZ, Singing on the Mountain, Highland Games, Shag at Sugar, Oktoberfest at Sugar Mt. (because, "In Heaven there is no Beer...that's why we drink it here!") , Arts and Crafts shows, and much more. Then return a short distance to the quiet of your mountain getaway. A-frame cabin nestled among thickets of beautiful rhododendron. This home is just seconds from the Blue Ridge Parkway National Park, and minutes from Newland, Sugar Mountain, Linville, & Banner Elk. Our home offers a large Primary room with a King bed, and a large loft with a full bed. The living room has space for the entire family to gather around the 50" smart television. Spend your evenings on the back porch taking in the warmth of the fire pit. Dogs are welcome with a small pet fee.

Mountain getaway with fantastic views! If traveling in the winter, 4 wheel drive is required if there is potential for snow/ice. Access to the cabin is up a steep road (paved and maintained). The cabin is 15 min from Grandfather mountain hiking trails, 20 min to Sugar mountain skiing, 30 min to Banner Elk and 30 min to Beech Mountain. This 2 bed/2bath cabin includes a loft area for remote work (really good wifi), extra sleeping space, etc. Fully stocked kitchen and high end bed linens!!
