I am disappointed that Norman did not enjoy his stay. The morning after Norman's group arrived, I drove over to the house to correct the items he had informed me of the night before. The guests were not there at the time. One outside trash can had not been emptied- there were a few things in it- and it was our mistake that it was not emptied. I was most concerned about a dirty diaper on the patio- I could not understand how we had missed cleaning that up when we scrubbed the grill, cleaned the outside furniture, watered plants... I was not able to find a poopy diaper when I arrived.
The cover was off of the spa because the water had overheated and shut off the system. When this happens, we have to take the cover off to let the water temperature cool down. Unfortunately, our beautiful mature trees do drop leaves as soon as the cover is removed, but we have not encountered guests wanting to use the spa with outside temperatures of 100 degrees and up. I cleaned the hot tub and re-covered it in case the guests wanted to use it during their stay.
The house was very cool; the guests had the thermostat set to 74 degrees. Unfortunately, Norman messaged me that night to tell me that he was unhappy about the fact that the house was too cool when they arrived back to the house!
I did also get quite a bit of positive feedback from Norman's wife. She stated that the home was beautiful and very clean.
Norman left this review literally 5 minutes after I reached out to request $20 for the damage that we found after Norman's group left. His anger about this might have contributed to the 1 star rating he gave me.
I have added to my process: an extra trip to the home to turn on the air conditioning before each guest arrives. This will insure that guests arrive to a house that is a comfortable temperature.
