From Old Road through the garden to a private, self contained unit within our cottage. 2 minute walk to the harbour and the village. Kitchen/sitting room with new fitted kitchen and electric woodburner. Spiral staircase leading to the bedroom with ensuite loo and shower (macerater).
A quiet and peaceful little pad set back from the village, just the sound of the Valency river below, the owls in the wood opposite will serenade you at night and the song birds will be singing away in the morning.
Tastefully and lovingly converted first two floors of our 250 year old cottage. A perfect bolthole to give guests private and cosy accommodation to relax in after a hard day on the beach or wandering around the harbour.
Please note there are a lot of steep, irregular, wobbly steps which anyone with sight and or mobility issues may find difficult.
Inside (which we have shown in the photos) is a spiral staircase which again isn't ideal for everyone.
The en suite shower cubicle is a good, standard size, the shower room/area itself is rather 'compact' and due to this the basin is tiny (!) its the only one we could get to fit and only really big enough for tooth brushing and hand washing but thats about it.
We sometimes use the steps past the entrance door ourselves to get to and from the village but we do our absolute best to respect guests privacy.
PLEASE NOTE due to our location (you'll see why when you get here) there is no radio or TV signal (believe me we have tried)! Most guests appreciate the peace and quiet. Please note check out is strictly 10am.
Guests can use the garden and lawn outside the front door of the cottage. Access is up slate garden steps and garden path from Old Road through the garden gate to the apartments own entrance.
We strongly recommend bringing a torch as the path is quite dark at night.
The house was built a long time ago therefore paths and steps are higgledy piggledy! Therefore probably not suitable for people with mobility issues.

Boscastle like many other Cornish fishing villages was built in the days of horse and cart. Parking can get tricky in high season. Roads are narrow. Ideally park on Old Rd on the left hand side above The Wellington Hotel, or in the large council pay and display in the village ( 5 minutes walk away).
It's not easy to find which is part of the charm, but I send super clear instructions how to find the house when you book.
For regular up to date pics of Boscastle follow us on Instagram Vinecottboscastle.
Please look after this place, we love it and we want you to as well. Please let us know if anything gets broken.
Children welcome but please note uneven steps up through to front door and spiral staircase inside. Possibly best suited to babes in arms and older children who can negotiate steps and stairs.
Turn off lights and the woodburner when you are going out.
The central heating will come on in the morning and evening.
We all love fluffy white towels so please don't remove make up with them, whatever is in that stuff it doesn't wash out...ever.
Feel free to smoke anywhere outside, but not in the house.
Please leave it in the condition you found it.
Usually always someone around if you need us. Come up the steps to our front door.
I hope all our guests fall in love with quirky Vine Cottage as much as we did, it was love at first sight.
A Cornish girl, I love where I live and love having people to stay.
We can help you decide where to go to walk, surf, wander, ride, secret beaches, ancient Cornish pubs and lovely places to eat.
