I am really surprised at this review. I am sorry you felt the kitchen and bathrooms needed a deep cleaning since no one has rented it recently before you and it was cleaned from top to bottom before you came. If you have any pictures, I would love for you to send them for me to review and discuss with Roy as this is his responsibility to keep the place spotless and ready for guests. Same applies to the lack of consistent hot water because the property has a new water heater and that should not have been a problem. Missing light switches and nonworking outlets are very puzzling as well. After speaking with Roy he did not communicate any of these problems so this is all a surprise.
As far as your other complaints:
Communication was the only area rated a 2.0. I answered all your questions in the time allowed and acceptable per AirBnB requirements which is under 24 hrs. I have a full time job and my own business in addition to managing this family property so I can not answer immediately but did so within AirBnB guidelines. Specifically, I was recieving the same questions to my cell phone from a US number and to AirBnB chat. I assumed it was you (LaVonna) on both. So when the repeat question arrived, I did not answer it again as I had just responded in the other message. Any logical person would have thought the same. When I got the question a 3rd time, I began to suspect I was not communicating with the same person - to which I inquired but got no response. By that time, I also comminicated this to AirBnB's customer service as I got no further response from you via cell or AirBnB chat. If I could go back and modify my initial review, my suggestion to you would be there be 1 point of contact because it gets confusing if several people are messaging me asking the same questions in different locations. That person then needs to update all guests.
The issue of weak WiFi was unfortunately out of our control as it was a network issue that the internet company would need to fix.
As you stated by rating a 4.0 for accuracy of the listing, the images depeict exactly what one can expect - a traditional Jamaican villa, which is quite different from the American standard of living. And a value rating of 4.0 because the ammenities of modern fixtures often comes with a premium price tag. The property is in a great area, one historically known as one of the nicest on this side of the island. I am happy you otherwise enjoyed your vacation, but wish these other issues were not present. I understand your frustration and will address all of these with Roy and resolve them. Again, if you have any pictures you could share with me that would be very helpful in addressing these issues immediately. Thank you.
