Miyoko, my wife of over 45 years, is from Osaka Japan. We met when I was a English language teacher. I then worked for South African and British companies, mainly in Japan for 18 years, returning to the UK in 1990. I have spent the last 18 years in insurance and risk management on the side of the buyers of insurance, running conferences and promoting risk-taking. I have written four books together with my co-author who lives outside Paris, on successful risk-taking by remarkable leaders with 164 stories drawn from over 25 countries and from 500BCE to the present day. Our client is a very large German insurer. I have my own toy company using a design - Acropats - that I developed years ago and which my 4 grandchildren enjoy. Miyoko is a great cook, bridge player, flower arranger and patchworker. You will get Japanese hospitality in a very traditional English setting if you stay with us.
