We have just returned from a fabulous week in South Wales. We stayed at Well House which was exactly as the pictures had shown. It seemed more spacious than we had imagined. It is cosy, clean and has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable holiday. The beds are comfortable and there are lots of hangers in the wardrobe. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, with everything you need. There is also a washing machine, should you need it. Just off the kitchen is a conservatory style porch, where you can hang coats, wet suits and shoes. We also sat in the delightful garden for a BBQ one evening. There is a large TV with a DVD player, as well as very fast WiFi, which was great for our teenage daughters! We couldn't get phone signal on our mobiles whilst we were in the cottage, but my daughter could for some reason! Sue has left lots of clear instructions around the house about the plumbing and how to use the heating and the water heater. There are also well labelled recycling bins in the kitchen and porch.
We used Well House as a base to travel around Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. You can either use the road between Llansteffan and Carmarthen or small roads between Llanybri and the A40. The road between Llanybri and St Clears (A40) is about 6 miles and is mostly single track and quite winding, but has virtually no traffic on it. We visited LLansteffan, Tenby, Saundersfoot, Milford Haven, Pembroke, Haverford West, Freshwater West (seen in Harry Potter), Barafundle Bay and Pembrey Country Park. We also spent a few hours at the Blue Lagoon water park, which was in the Bluestone resort. We could have done with another week really to fully appreciate what the area had to offer.
The village of Llanybri is very quiet. We hardly saw anyone else, but the neighbours who we did meet were very friendly. The village has a pub - The Farmers Arms, which serves excellent Britsh and Thai food. On our first evening the pub had stopped serving food, as it was a Sunday evening, so we walked down the lane to Lllansteffan. It is a beautiful two mile walk. We ate in The Castle Inn and it was delicious and very reasonably priced.
All in all we had a lovely family holiday. Sue's delightful home was such amazing value for money. We could not have been happier with our choice. It is our first experience of "airbnb" and we will certainly be using them again. I would highly recommend Well House as a holiday choice for a family of 4. Thank you so much Sue. I hope that we will be able to return again.
