This place has amazing views, and is close to mountains, ideal for walking and cycling. We are also only 45 minutes from the stunning coastline of the Cinque Terre and Gulf of Poets. You’ll love this place because it is peaceful, away from the crowds yet with easy access to Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Genova, Bologna and Modena and the coast, has a comfy double bed, amazing views and a pool. Our place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
We are offering a double room in a beautiful Tuscan house set at the edge of a medieval hamlet. Keeping its historic floors and features such as the lovely carved front door, stone ballustrades and arches, the house has been beautifully restored. There are two terraces (south facing) with seats on the shadier lower terrace, and seats, parasols and sunloungers on the upper (guest only) terrace, both with stunning views out onto the garden and across the Tuscan hills. The garden boasts a small olive grove with pizza oven area, as well as a secluded 20ft x 12ft pool area with seating and sun loungers. The private guest bathroom (shared between two rooms) gives a real feeling of opulence with a chandelier, marble sink top and a free standing slipper bath. The pillowcases and covers on the bed are 100% pure linen on quilts filled with goose and duck down with cool percale cotton sheets. The beautiful kitchen is also available for your use.
The house is only 1¼ hours drive from Pisa airport which connects with cities wordwide. Public transport is almost non existent so a car is vital and is the best way to explore Tuscany. This region (Lunigiana) offers a truly unspoilt and quiet corner of Tuscany – an ideal place to relax and get away from the more widely travelled and crowded holiday destinations and an escape from the rush of modern life. It is situated in the most northern tip of Tuscany, defined by the Appennine mountain range to the East, the world famous Carrara marble Apuane mountains to the South and the Ligurian Riviera to the West. A unique location whether you wish to bathe in the natural thermal baths, go skiing, walk in the countryside, wander around the nearby medieval cities and towns, or visit the Gulf of Poets and Cinque Terre on the coast which still retains its authenticity and charm with lively and colourful waterfronts, picturesque fishing villages and hidden coves with turquoise waters.
The house is a 4 minute drive to Fivizzano which has shops, restaurants and bars, or a 20 minute walk along a footpath.
Please be aware that we have three affectionate cats and a dog (labrador-collie) who has won awards for his friendliness! If you don't like animals we will try to keep them out of your way as much as possible but as there are shared areas you will come across them regularly.

Myself and my wife Elly are Scottish but have lived in Italy since 2014. In Scotland we built and ran a multi award-winning cafe, art gallery and music venue on the Isle of Skye. Over our first 14 months in Italy we hosted more than 40 volunteers who helped us with the house renovation to get it ready for you to come and stay! We are friendly and relaxed yet understand the need for privacy. We love hosting and hope you enjoy our house as much as our guests to date have. We look forward to meeting you!
