Dear Genie. again, thanx for your review. cooking never been a big concern for guests before, since they only do a light cooking or heat up their food with microwave, except guests who stay with us weekly or monthly basis. Queens is well known for its authentic food from around the world, there're plenty of good cheap eats, deli/grocery stores and supermarkets nearby. sometimes, that's what we do as well, heat up the food, since my family own and work in the restaurant. my brother works as a line cook, he usually doesn't feel like to cook anymore after work, so he takes food home and heat up at home with microwave, late after restaurant closing time. yes, other housemate cook, and i think u probably accidently tried to use their pots and pans. in this case, i labled our kitchen equipments for future guests. (thank you for a helpful idea)
that's true that a regular door would be nicer, but it wouldn't make it a unique one anymore and that's what i like about it. (thanx to nyc building law that not allowed us to build a regular stairs and door, otherwise we wouldn't have what we have now). fyi, if you prefer a regular door, i do have another room in the main floor, unfortunately it wasn't available during your stay.
