The breathtaking view, as well as the privileged location of the house, the cool breeze and the peaceful environment away from the crowded harbor, promise you an unforgettable stay!
The house is located in Ano Symi (location “Myli”) and it is the family’s vacation house. It was first built in 1858, but the final renovation took place in 2016. It has a great view of the Aegean sea, as well as the -amphitheatric built- village, the port of Yalos and the island of Nimos. You can enjoy your breakfast, your cup of coffee or a drink, seated in the balcony and feel like a part of a painting. Even when you are seated inside the kitchen the view is still breathtaking.
The house has the island’s typical architecture, where the main building (bedroom, kitchen, living-room) and the assistant rooms (WC, warehouse) create a structure that resembles the Greek letter Π and surrounds a small yard. You reach the WC and the warehouse through the yard. There is also a small garden with trees and flowers.
The owners restored grandmother’s old furniture, chairs and tables and used them for the interior design among other vintage objects.
The owners, both artists, used unique works of art to decorate the house: Handmade lights, vases, mirrors and clocks, all made from real wood or driftwood and other natural materials. They also kept the house’s traditional elements, like “tsimia” (the traditional cooking place) “moussandra” (a raised wooden bed for two), the wooden ceiling in the living-room with the old chandelier, and “kapizana” (traditional floor in the living room and the bedroom made of ceramic blocks). The bathroom’s decoration follows also the vintage style of the house.
The house is fully air-conditioned.
