Relax and recharge in a quiet small town with a park next door. With a hand-painted Where the Wild Things mural and a player piano in this room, this room is fun and comfy! Full size memory foam mattress, access to kitchen, dining room, living room, patio, firepit, free wi-fi, cable TV / apple TV w/ Netflix / Youtube etc.
Peace, quiet, sweet animals, and free Wi-fi! Also, a large, flat screen TV w/ Netflix, a DVD player, and a gas fireplace all open to you. Smoke-free, and there is also a small park literally right next door. :)
I've lived here for almost 14 years, so I know Bloomington well. I can recommend nature trails, cultural events, and great restaurants and shops! You will be abt 5 minutes from Lake Monroe, which is Indiana's largest lake! so the beach and lakeside trails are just 5min away. :)
The Wild Things Room
There is a hand-painted mural of Where the Wild Things are in this room, plus a vintage player piano. A room with character! Futon mattress on a wood frame.
I also have another room that is available - search for 'zen room' at this address.
1 full bath and a 1/2 bath.
My kitchen is your kitchen - feel free to buy food and put it in the frig, and cook if you want. I am also happy to provide a lite breakfast for you on your first day free of charge if you let me know what sort of things you like. (eg, I don't want to get eggs for you if you're vegan, or bread if you're gluten-free)
The house was originally built in the 1800s, with a couple of additions later. There's hardwood in the bedrooms and living room, and tile in the kitchen and dining area - no carpet.
I have 3 cats and one small dog, so if you have allergies, not a good fit. I Roomba a lot but there always still seems to be some renegade fur!
Harrodsburg is a small town - super quiet, and in my 4 years here have never had a problem with the neighbors or any sort of theft or anything. No bus comes here tho, so you would need a car. I have a HUGE yard, and my place is a great place for someone to just relax and decompress. My patio is really relaxing, and I also have a fire pit if you want to roast hot dogs or marshmallows.
It's abt 10 min to the closest grocery store (Kroger) and abt 20 min to downtown Bloomington. There is a gas station/ convenience store right down the street. I am literally right next to a lovely little park and the community center. The drive-in is also just down the road, about 5 minutes away.
The entire house may also be available if you inquire about that - see my 'Historic House' listing.
You may bring animals as long as you assure me that they are friendly. No curfew or anything...just please be respectful if it's super-late or early.
Absolutely no smoking inside! You may smoke on the front or back porch.

We help each other out bc we both like to travel and can keep up with Airbnb for the other as needed. We've both lived in the area for a long time, so we can give you tips for restaurants and fun things to do!
