Not a shared space, this is your own apartment with its own separate entrance. It is the entire 2nd story so you must be comfortable with stairs, 17 total, see the picture in the listing. Next door, at the cul de sac of our street is a lovely green park, formerly the Miami Erie Canal. Plenty of parking and walking distance to many local stores and restaurants. A super easy 3 miles to UC, XU, Children's Hospital and the Zoo. 6 miles to downtown Cinti, an easy drive or Uber ride.
This one bedroom apartment with a queen size bed is on the second floor. It has a its own entrance from the side porch. Comfortable for one or two guests, a third guest can sleep on a foldaway bed we have available to use in the living room.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, sharp knives, cutting board, bakeware, coffeemaker, hand mixer, blender and nearly any other kitchen gadget you might want. There are spices, coffee and a selection of snacks in the kitchen. I try to keep a bake mix with milk & eggs on hand should you want to bake a treat.
You can walk to a small grocery store, restaurants and our brand new public library. The grocery store has an Ohio liquor agency inside. In Ohio, liquor sales are controlled by the state. Hard liquor is sold only at State Liquor Agencies. Beer and wine are sold at regular grocery stores and convenience retailers. A huge Kroger is about a mile away if you want greater grocery selection.
St. Bernard is a small village enveloped completely within the City of Cincinnati. It's the founding location of Proctor & Gamble, the canal park alongside our house is a former waterway and primary distribution transportation for P&G goods to the mighty Ohio River. The Miami Erie Canal once ran from Toledo to Cincinnati.
I used to walk the Canal Park Greenspace as a child to visit my grandmother. You'll see her house up on your left at the end of the greenway. There are soccer fields and a children's playground at the far end if you walk through the green area and down the short park road.
If you are looking for two full bedrooms for your stay, take a look at our other listing a few blocks away, Home Away From Home.
We have a keyless entry which makes checkin 100% flexible to your schedule! You will enter from the separate entrance on the side porch on the left side of the house looking at the front.
You will have the entire 875 square foot apartment along with the shared basement laundry area.

We are available by text anytime and will respond promptly. After check in, you likely will never see us since do not live in the house. The neighbors are all quite friendly and may say hello if you're in the yard.
The lawn is mowed once a week spring through early fall. It's completed very fast in the early evening by my son & husband who drive a big red pickup truck. The mowers & trimmers are in the garage which is why the garage is not available to guests. We will NEVER come into your place during your stay if they stop by to mow the lawn.

My husband and I are designers and run our own company. We also drive Lyft & Uber for fun and to supplement college tuition money for our three boys. We really know Cincinnati very well, please do not hesitate to reach out for recommendations or even a quick tour if time permits. Being a graphic designer, I created maps to highlight many of our favorite places in our neighborhood and the Downtown/OTR areas. We'll leave maps along with a card listing my website. There, you'll find links to Uber & Lyft apps if you don't have those, and a jpg of the printed maps I've left on the table. That site is UberDareDevils just add the most common suffix when you type it into your browser. (Airbnb blocks web addresses entered in these descriptions that's why I'm piecing the info together)
