Our southern gem located on Lake Wateree near Columbia SC is our pride and joy! It boasts of lake cottage charm for those who need a break from the increasingly urban world anytime of the year! Sip your coffee in the morning and your wine at night. Read a book, talk, laugh, play board games, fish, grille, swim from the dock, rent a pontoon, watch the sunset by a fire, listen to the night sounds, or look for the abundance of wild life surrounding the lake. It's simple; just relax and enjoy!
We are willing to host throughout the year to allow others to enjoy what we experience in our perfect little slice of life. We are located 30 minutes from the convenience of Columbia SC, 25 minutes from the charm of the antique shops of Pontiac, and only a little more than 1 hour from Charlotte NC for those who want a day trip to bigger things! The beds are comfortable, but full size. The linens and towels are all provided so no worries with bringing your own! The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils, and there is a grill on the back deck for your use. There is outdoor furniture and chairs for the deck or enjoying the dock, or a swing next to the lake to drink coffee and enjoy the view. There is a sand bar for swimming just at the mouth of the cove and boat ramp a few miles away. This is a one level home and equipped for all of your laundry needs. We love coffee perked but for your preferences we also have an automatic drip and a one cup coffee maker. (We will provide coffee for the multi drip makers, but bring your own favorite flavor the the one cup maker!) There is WIFI but NO cable for a reason. It is equipped with Roku TV to enjoy free shows like classic Perry Mason, or free app channels. There are many DVD's! The master has a large TV with DVD use only. We don't use our home for the TV. We love our place for the peace it gives to us. We hope you will too!
You are welcome to access our whole home and grounds, as well as enjoy sitting or fishing on the dock!

The most important thing to know is that this is not a hotel with the amenities of the urban city. This small cottage is about feeling at home, stopping to smell your coffee, and the air. If you are looking for fast paced hopping entertainment it will not be in this area. During the week we have to eat at home because nothing opens until Thursday night or we have to be willing to drive 30 minutes. It's an easy drive but we want you to be aware of it. :)
1. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property. Inside or on the grounds.
2. Permission needed to bring watercraft. Please include in your reservation request.
3. We are now at times allowing children under 12 depending on age and parental communication. If you have a child you may email a request and we may consider it but will not guarantee it.
I am a gypsy by nature and my husband is a stable gable! I am his sense of adventure and he is my rock of reasonableness! I would hate to live without the smell of my morning coffee or first sip of it in the quietness of the day before the world wakes up. I love every "first" experience and every adventure. It's not so much how big or long it might be; just that I am alive to have it. We have traveled all over the US, South Africa, and parts of Eastern Europe. One of my favorite destinations is my own little space in my own little cottage. I am a guest who will care for someone's space, not as my own, but as their space I have been entrusted with for just a brief moment in time to enjoy, be comfortable in, experience, but leave it as I truly honored and valued the time I was trustfully granted by it's owner. I love the trust and the gift of their space, so I will never abuse it. As a host I will ask the same thing. I want a guest in our cottage to get what I have been given by hosts on my stays in other Airbnb experiences. A sense of true hospitality, trust, and rejuvenation until the next new adventure comes along.
