I am so upset by this review! I work so hard to keep this house clean and welcoming for guests. I continuously clean and do a thorough cleaning in every room. Every other guest has commented on the cleanliness. If there was a cobweb I missed, I am very sorry. Per the cat issue, I am very upset about that. I wish I had known there were severe cat allergies. The library had been thoroughly cleaned before the visit. The cat stays in our bedroom area whenever there are guests, but is allowed occasional access to the library when there are no guests. If I had known there were allergies, I would have explained the possibility. I have had friends stay here who are allergic to cats and have never had an issue.
The heat was on and set to 68 degrees that night. I have an electronic WiFi thermostat that we programmed and was on. In addition, every bed had a thick duvet under the bedspread. There was also an electric heater in every bedroom. It’s hard to predict what level of warmth people want, so I try to cover all the bases.
I’m also surprised at the reference to the price. This was an extended family that booked three bedrooms. Three basic hotel rooms would have cost what they spent. They had a private breakfast room, stocked with breakfast food and I made fresh pumpkin muffins and a freshly cut fruit salad for them. I had baked cookies for their arrival. They had access to much of a large beautiful home with front porches and beautiful acreage.
My guests have told me they feel like they’re in a slice of heaven here. Folks don’t want to leave and come back repeatedly. I know you can’t please everyone all the time but I want to!
