Kathy, I’m very disappointed to hear you had such a bad experience. I do think it’s important to rebuke some of your statements as they are very misleading, exaggerated and frankly untrue.
Firstly I’ve been operating a small business for the past five years and this is the first time I hear of the driveway being a hazard. You did tell me in our initial communication that you would be arriving early in the evening. I would have left lights on for you had I known you would be arriving much later.
Secondly, the refrigerator was actually quite clean. The food you refer too, I think is important to note was actually condiments (ie: mayo, butter, bbq sauce, maple syrup) which was actually placed in there by myself for my guests convince (just incase people need some essentials). I will admit there was also a box of non perishable chicken noodle soup left behind by a guest. I didn’t see a point to through this in the garbage as someone may have been able to enjoy it.
Thirdly, the oven. I can’t argue this one. It was actually far below my standards. Although bad enough to start a fire I’m certain is not true, it was not acceptable. I have to thank you for the detailed inspection of my place, this oversight is now sparking clean :)
Lastly the parking. This is the most baffling of your list of complaints. Not only did you always have an extremely accessible place to park. There was never any communication too this being an issue. It’s important to note that when you did park up front there was ample space in the back. Regardless of this, had you messaged me or even knocked on the door to find a solution. I would have kindly instructed you to park in the front. I am always available to my guests needs and questions. Judging from your review and the disparaging message you sent to me, you seem to think there was a vendetta against you for doing exactly what I would have asked you too do. I did come in late that night but I can assure you there was no intention to cause you any displeasure. Sorry you felt that way.
Air bnb has been a very positive experience for me and as you can see from my long list of very positive feedback, I assume it has been for my guests as well. I do my best to provide a safe, comfortable, clean space with open and consistent communication. This is why my guest rate me too the level of super host.
It’s really a shame you fabricated an issue that did not exist too make you as angry as it did, and had such a negative experience as a result.
