During Jacob’s stay there were no issues with ants, mould, or health of his guest. Anyone who reads the correspondence between me and Jacob can tell that the only issue Jacob has reported, had to do with the electricity; Two days before his check out, Jacob reported a partial power outage, which I took very serious from the start. Because I was not on the island, I asked him to report this to the resort manager, who has his office right under the studio. I wanted to be sure that it was studio specific. In that week there were strikes on Curacao, leaving some areas without power. Everyone can read this in the media. Jacob replied that he didn’t check with the manager or any neighbor, but he was sure it was studio specific. So I asked him to specify what exactly wasn’t working. He got upset. I explained to him that I needed to know what to tell the mechanic. He responded that the air-conditioning and refrigerator were working fine, but the lights and TV were not working. He didn’t have time to contact the resort manager because he was ready to go to the beach While he was away, I send an employee to the studio. To our surprise the lights were burning and the tv was working. The meter was fine. Jacob then admitted he didn’t check the tv. He thought the employee must have done something to make the lights work. Later that night he sent me a message that the lights went off. The resort manager sent a mechanic at my request. The mechanic concluded that someone had caused a short circuit. Unfortunately, he couldn’t fix it right away. Therefore. I offered Jacob a free night. First he asked for more money so he could write a good review. I didn’t respond to that so he accepted my refund. The next day another mechanic came and told Jacob and his friend Sam that he had to turn off the power completely to fix the short circuit. Jacob said he didn’t want that. He asked the mechanic to come back the next day, after their check out. He said the partial outage wasn’t affecting his stay but he couldn’t afford being completely out of power and he was sure I would compensate him for another night. When I told Jacob what I heard, he said the mechanic just came and left. He started to send me several threatening messages. If I didn’t give him a certain amount of money he would write bad reviews, report me to Airbnb etc. etc. I don’t pay anyone for a good review. I let Airbnb intervene and they concluded I wasn’t liable for any refund. Too bad this has led Jacob to make up stories about issues that never occurred. In the end: Jacob got his one free night. I was left with a double bill from the mechanic because he was asked to come back the next day. But most important: the mechanic returned the next day and fixed the problem. 99% of my reviews are great. If anyone has doubts to book with me, please contact me and I will make sure you have a great stay.
The studio had been flooded 7 months ago. ALL of the bottom kitchen cabinets were severely mouldy. The owner, despite the resort manager's advice that she should fix the studio, did NOT fix it at all and instead went on renting it in a totally INSALUBRIOUS UNHEALTHY CONDITION (!)…

The studio is managed by a resort manager who is present during businessdays. He inspected the kitchen and told me Celine was exaggerating because she wanted the entire kitchen to be replaced. He adviced me to replace the damaged shelves and hired a carpenter to do this. I also paid for Celine to stay in another studio so we could fix the kitchen. The reason why she couldn't find another place herself is because I gave her a discount on her long term stay and there is no similar accomodation in the area for that price. I doubt that she got sick from the studio, she already had health problems before she arrived and was carrying more than 50 jars of medicines. Please read the other reviews and make up your mind. You will find out that the studio is exactly as described in the ad.
