This unique 24-acre resort property located right on the edge of the Town of Duck, NC, sits between the Ocean and the Sound, and offers access to both. This is arguably one of the best locations in the Outer Banks for convenience and walking / biking proximity to multiple activities and dining options.

Boendet
From your unit you can walk to the Beach, Outdoor pool area, and the Sound. Or you can walk / bike to the village of Duck and shop or dine along the 1-mile boardwalk located along the Sound. In the evenings try not to miss some of the spectacular sunsets over the Sound.

This is a two level 2BR/2BA unit located in the 400 Building on the 3rd and 4th floors.

3rd floor - Small deck at front entrance with space for a couple outdoor / camp chairs, Living Room with Love Seat and Sleeper sofa, Deck with outdoor table / 4 chairs, View of Pool, Courtyard, and Ocean from Deck, Full Kitchen with Stove, Oven, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Toaster, Blender, etc. Sit up bar / 3 stools, Dining Table / 6 chairs, Full Bathroom, Bedroom with 2 Twin Beds

4th floor - Large Loft with Sleeper sofa, Washer / Dryer, Master with King bed, Large closet, Full Bathroom with large soaker tub

This 2BR unit at approximately 1,300sq ft and is rated to sleep eight (8) to ten (10) persons. There is a Washer / Dryer inside your unit.

COURTYARD / POOL / OCEAN VIEW CATEGORY:

While the resort itself is Beachfront this specific Week 26 unit is located in the 400 Building (see property map in the pictures section), and is close to the outdoor pool area.

From your 3rd floor and 4th floor unit you have excellent views of the Courtyard, main Pool area, and the Ocean.

STAIRS / ACCESSIBILITY:

Most properties in OBX have a certain number of stairs, so that buildings are elevated and protected in case of potential flooding that could be caused by hurricanes or major storms.

Almost all the units at this resort have a certain number of stairs leading to the Front Door of the unit. Some have interior stairs to a 2nd level, or depending on the specific unit configuration, as few stairs up or down to one of the bedrooms inside the unit. The number of stairs varies depending on the specific unit configuration, and whether the unit is considered first floor, second floor, or third floor. Typically the higher you go the better your view is from the outdoor decks.

BIS-Duck Resort will provide assistance carrying your baggage to your unit if you would like some help.

UNIT INTERIORS:

This property was originally constructed in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Recently a $8+ Million dollar renovation project was started, and expected to be completed in phases thru 2022/2023.

Your unit will definitely be cleaned and sanitized based on COV-19 protocols. But until the entire renovation is completed, resulting in every unit interior being renovated, you will find most unit interiors are clean and comfortable but dated. These units definitely have more of a rustic, almost like a cabin at the beach type feel, with older furniture and carpets. Hopefully the photos provided give you a general understanding for what I am describing.

The benefits offered by this resort are the overall amenities (including one of the largest outdoor pool areas on OBX), an onsite Beach Bar and Grill, having direct access to both a beautiful Beach and the Sound, and staying in very close proximity to the Town of Duck. This is definitely one of the best locations on OBX. You also benefit from these spacious units being priced lower than comparable options of the same size in the area.

Many families enjoy their annual vacations at this property, however if you are a traveler that requires luxury accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you. If you have any specific questions on this please don't hesitate to ask.

Your unit is private, but since this is a resort, amenities will be shared with other guests (Pools, Hot Tub, Beach, Outdoor Games, etc).

- Primary Guest checking in must be at least 21 years of age with a valid ID and credit card for security deposit. If a security deposit is required, it will be returned to you after Check Out if you have not made any charges to your room.

- Barrier Island Station – Duck is professionally managed and operated by Vacation Resorts International (VRI). The Front Desk is staffed for Check-In, Check-Out, and is available for any questions, issues, or need for assistance during your stay.

- Check In time is 4:00pm and check out time is 10:00am. Please check with the resort Front Desk for any possibility of earlier unit availability and / or early use of the resort amenities during check-in days.

- Late Check In: The Front Desk / Office is open from 8am to 7pm. If you arrive after those hours you can go to the Security office and get access to your unit. Then the following morning you will need to go to the office by 11am to get officially signed in and receive your parking passes, information, etc.

- Two Free parking passes are included with this unit, which you will receive from the Front Desk at Check In. If you need parking for an additional vehicle you can arrange this directly with the Front Desk.

- Although bedding linens (sheets) and pillows are provided, due to additional sanitization standards that have been implemented, there will be NO blankets or comforters provided in your unit. So please bring your own blankets and comforters as needed. And if you have favorite pillows, or if you sleep better using a certain type of pillow, it would be good to bring your own.

- If you plan on using the Sleeper sofas during your stay, I definitely recommend bringing your own sheets, pillows, and blankets, maybe even a mattress pad for the Sleeper sofa specifically, which can be turned into a very comfortable extra bed. Also plan accordingly if your unit has multiple sleeper sofas.

- Bath and Hand towels are provided for you and will be inside your unit when you arrive.

- There is no daily housekeeping provided. However your unit does have it's own Washer / Dryer in the Foyer area that is for your use only. If additional housekeeping is desired during your stay it is available for an additional fee scheduled directly with the resort Front Desk.

- Each Guest will receive a "Starter Package" from the Front Desk at Check In. This will have basic supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, detergent, etc to get you thru the first day or two of your stay. However it is highly recommended to bring additional PAPER products (toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, etc) and your own CLEANING products (detergents, cleaners, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, etc). Due to the circumstances this year you may find that local stores don't have the full inventory of supplies you need, or the specific brands you prefer to use. I recommend you definitely be prepared for this by bringing your own supplies in these categories based on what you feel you will need for the week.

- Pool / Beach towels are not provided. Each family should bring their own pool / beach towels

- You should bring your own beach chairs / beach blankets / umbrellas / equipment you want to use on the beach. If you don’t bring your own stuff, you are able to rent beach chairs / umbrellas on the beach out in front of the facility.

- The new H2OBX Waterpark recently built in Powell's Point is only about 15 miles away

- If you or any members of your family enjoy bike riding, I strongly recommend taking your own bikes (if you have the means to do so). Bikes are a great way to move around the resort, and also ride into the Town of Duck. Bike rentals in Duck are available if you don't bring your own. Remember to take your bike locks so you can lock up your bikes at the bike rack each night.

- If you are interested in fishing while on vacation, there is Surf fishing out in front of the resort on the beach, or pier fishing from the pier on the ocean or the pier on the sound (both piers are very close to the property). You would just need to make sure you had the proper licenses though, which can be obtained easily locally. There is even a Super Wal-Mart when you first enter OBX at Kitty Hawk via Route 158, where local licenses can be purchased if needed. There are also many rental and charter boats for fishing based out of the various inlets if you wanted access to waters farther offshore.

- Pets are not permitted anywhere on or in the resort property.

- Once reservations are confirmed, you will be asked for the name and address of the main guest who will check in (the resort's Front Desk will also ask for this information when you check in, but obtaining this information beforehand will expedite the check in process) along with an email address to receive a personal confirmation.

- BIS-Duck is building a new state of art Recreation Center (Indoor Pool, Hot Tub, Shower / Changing rooms, Gym, Activities room, etc) is being built at the resort, but construction is not expected to be completed until the 3rd Quarter of 2021.

ADDITIONAL 2021 COVID-19 STIPULATIONS:

- If the resort was closed, meaning unit is not available for occupancy, Renter would receive a 100% refund of any payments made, no questions asked.
