The Fisherman's house is one of only three houses on the Corte del Diavolo (The Devil's Courtyard).
It is located in the historic centre of Venice's Sestiere Santa Croce. Close to the famous Rialto Bridge, the cute 2-story house with about 70 sqm living space has two bedrooms for 2 people each, as well as two pull-out sofas in the living room for two people. One twin room has an on-suit shower and toilet. The second bathroom and toilet are off the main living room. The dining area has a table with four chairs and the modern kitchen consists of a gas cooker, a dishwasher and a refrigerator.
From the kitchen, you can step out onto a small terrace. A flat-screen TV, as well as heated floors on the basement floor and radiator heating on the first floor, gives extra cosiness to the house. Air conditioning lets you adjust the individual temperature of every bedroom and the living room separately. It should ensure a good nights sleep as well as pleasant resting hours after your adventurous walks in the city.
All bedlinen and towels are provided. We recommend you bring your own bathroom and shower supplies however, there is a co-op supermarket located close by that is well stocked with all household and kitchen essentials.
We will supply a key code to access the door key on arrival.
Upon departure, please leave the keys on the kitchen table, and close the door behind you. It locks automatically.
The entire house is yours for the duration of your stay. There are a few wooden chests that are locked for personal storage, please respect the privacy of these.

Please be aware that Venice is prone to flooding (aqua alta) occasionally when the tide is high or there is a lot of rainfall. In this case, our caretaker will come to the house to ensure it is safe from the floods and that the water level doesn't reach the inside of the house by putting up a flood barrier.
Strict new rubbish laws in Venice are helping to keep the city clean. This means rubbish cannot be left on the street, near doors or hung on walls. The Venice authority has come up with a system where all residents will need to take responsibility for the recycling and waste.
Please make sure you separate rubbish into the correct waste bins. These will be removed on the day of your departure. If you would like rubbish removed during your stay, you must wait for the rubbish collector to visit between 8.30-12am. Alternatively, you can take the separated rubbish to the moored boats at San Stae, following the instructions below.
Recycling and household rubbish should be placed in separate bags. Household rubbish can be collected on any day, however, paper and cardboard can only be disposed of on Mon/Wed/Friday. Glass, plastics, cans, only on Tues/Thurs/Sat.
Owners are liable to pay large fines for the mismanagement of rubbish and this could be charged back to the guest. If you have any problem disposing of the rubbish, please let us know as soon as possible.
- When leaving the house please ensure the terrace door is securely locked, and that the front door is securely closed.
