Hi Nelly and Mitko, We are sorry that you are unhappy with your experience in our apartment. We don’t agree with you as things you point are simply not true – stains in the floor are part of the floor material, not dirty as Marco show you; and either we would have a broken glass door (which we have but no glass broke) or a curtain with white spots in the shower – it would be simply weird to have both as shower cabinets. But we tend to believe in the best intentions of our guests and that’s why we had offered you a new free cleaning intervention on the day after, instead of the money trade you suggested. Also, because we are keen to please guests, we accept your booking for 6 pax with full 6 pairs of towels even if we charged only 4 because they were toddlers and even if we normally don’t, and we went to pick you at the train station, and we wrote you everything about to do and see in Cascais, and we offer you a free orange cake and bottles of water as you were arriving late. We always answered your several requests within one hour. However, we cannot accept and will not give in to blackmail like paying you, as suggested, just to avoid bad reviews because “you know some friend in Airbnb” – bad reviews are part of the job and useful. Thankfully due to the hard work our reviews are very positive, and we hope to work harder to keep it raising. Things not always go as perfect as we work for, and we do recognize that, when we went back to the apartment, you show us a left-over pancake in the oven – if was fresh thou, and one knife that was badly cleaned, and a single curly hair on the bottom surface of the duvet. Also, be aware that our rules say clearly that guests should put garbage out and wash dishes, which you didn’t. We do thank you for your alerts: to avoid future similar situations, we are implemented a key point check-list for the cleaning team. We both do agree that Airbnb was a good platform and Hugo was an excellent crisis manager. Thanks to him, we could have reviewed both ways has he agree that there weren’t enough arguments for a full refund and that’s why we could write each other reviews. We opted by not leaving a review on your profile. We preferred to answer in our own profile for less noise and more transparency. Regards, Maria & Marco
