We're glad you liked the environment and are disappointed that the cleanliness didn't meet your expectations. Our caretakers usually clean to the highest standards and we are sorry that on this occasion some areas were not up to scratch. At this time of year our native marsupials are very cheeky and quite clever in their ability to find a way into the cottage to get to any food that is accessible. As they are native, they are protected, so it is difficult. We recently spent quite a bit of time blocking every obvious access point so it's disappointing to hear they have out outmanoeuvred us.
We do describe our kitchen appliances as basic - the electric burners heat slowly, that is the nature of the product. Based on your comments we'll create some instructions on their operation for future guests. Our welcome email describes where the caretakers live, a short walk further up the road, so I'm sorry you missed that information - they are very happy to help guests out on the spot if they have any particular need or problem.
