Svetlana and her husband are nice people with 2 really cute kids! When she initially made her reservation (weeks in advance) to sightsee NYC , we didn't realize her dates were during a holiday weekend (we correspond with many people, from all over the world so (in addition to managing Airbnb inquiries and bookings, we also must manage the load of our personal and professional businesses therefore), it never registered in our minds that, there was an upcoming holiday (it just didn't clicked). Moreover, if we would've actually remembered "Labor Day" our prices would've considerately been a bit higher as, it is customary to adjust prices a bit, for holiday week or weekends. Additionally, we had no idea we were going to have any kind of a party or else, "Of Course" we would have respectfully told Svetlana BEFORE she booked (we're kind and considerate people so, we wouldn't have a problem openly telling someone,"there's going to be a party", this way (if they choose to), a tentative guest can make reservations elsewhere because, the mini-garden apartment books well during any season, its a very cute & comfy space. As a matter of fact, the day Svetlana and her family arrived, there were guests leaving). Besides, we don't typically have parties (holidays or not), we're usually pretty quiet (as you can read in ALL of our GreaT Reviews).
However, life happens, it unfolds.... so, when our family member (an extremely busy public figure, whom we haven't seen in much time), she called, letting us know she's in town on business and its her Bday! :-) in which, we planned to take her out to dinner and then, we found it was the anniversary of 2 other family members. With this, we discovered the Long Labor day weekend (No work on Monday! ;-) Perfect for an All-in-one Birthday, Anniversary and Labor day/BBQ party :-) orrrr so we thought, Ugh;( Nonetheless, this is how the last minute party came to be.
Thus, upon arrival, we told our guests/Svetlana and her husband that, we were having a party and excitedly invited them to join us whenever they returned. Svetlana said she wasn't sure because, they may be tired but, will let us know once they got back (in The years of us being AirbnbHosts, the few times we decided to have a family gathering or a party, we invite our Airbnb guests to join us. With this, our guests have told us, they feel lucky to have found us (yes, they’re sad that they are away from home and family during a holiday) but feel happy, blessed, a pleasant surprise to be invited like extended-family, to a holiday celebration, in a home filled with great people and their children, delicious food, deserts, good music, drinks, lovely interesting professionals (public’s figures local and national). However, Uth'OH! ;-( This time, unfortunately our Airbnb guests wanted to relax quietly, early evening (just as our guests normally enjoy a lovely experiences, as stated in our Reviews). But, with a house full of friends, family and church members, everyone happy and enjoying themselves, we weren’t able to accommodate Svetlana and her husbands request to cut & end the party at 9pm. Considerately, we turned off the music at 11pm and we respectfully apologized with *concessions but unfortunately, they were still annoyed at the Labor Day party. In order to avoid this from happening again, we’re editing our listings description, letting guests know, We are a nice, safe and peaceful home to stay, However, if you stay with us during a holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Labor day, 4th of July etc), we may or may not have a dinner gathering, a party.
But, if we do? You’re invited!! :-) Moreover, if we know in advance that we're having a party, of course, we’ll considerately let the inquiries know before they book. *As an Airbnb SuperHost, we aim to please, but are well aware that, it’s impossible to please everyone, every time But, we still do our best! :-) Be WeLL!
