Wow what a place. We spent the best Xmas in the cottage. The photos don't do the views justice, it's just a great part of the world. The cottage itself was excellent and when they say self contained it has everything, from a DVD / TV through to WiFi. There was enough stuff for us to result cook a full Xmas dinner. Jill and David left a welcome pack which was the icing on the cake. The bedrooms are massive and very comfortable. The local village is stunning as well. Did I mention the local area :) we certainly wanted to spend more time walking and exploring. A massive thanks to Jill and David (and their cottage) for one of the best family xmas's ever.

Brilliant. David and Jill were fantastic hosts - got in contact quickly and very friendly. The cottage was gorgeous in a lovely location. Loads of leaflets left behind so we had plenty of stuff to tell us what to do.

Wow! When they said that this lovely cottage was in an area of outstanding natural beauty, they weren't kidding. The location was amazing, with great views of the Golden Cap and the nearby Jurassic cliffs. The cottage was cosy and quiet and had everything in it that we needed for a really relaxing break. The beds were super comfy and the Wifi worked a treat. It was tempting to just loll about gazing at the stunning views, but we did manage to stroll to the pub (the Anchor) nearby at Seatown beach (highly recommended). There are wonderful walking opportunities along the coastal path in both directions and we really enjoyed going to nearby Lyme Regis and West Bay. We hope to come back some day.

Cedar Cottage was the perfect setting and location for our Dorset visit. Just what we were hoping for. The hills that surround the cottage are beautiful and easily accessible by foot. Just a short walk into Chideok's town, with a couple pubs and a shop. At night it is quiet and dark, great for stargazing. We loved our time there and hope to come back. Comfortable accommodations, lots of closet and drawer space. Everything we needed was accounted for, including some complimentary biscuits and cereals, a welcoming touch. Thank you David and Jill!

We had the most wonderful stay at David and Jill's cottage. It is in the most beautiful setting. Rolling hills all around and a wonderful lawned garden (which is communal and huge) this is perfect for toddlers/young children. The cottage has everything you could need for a family break away. Absolute gem of a place, we hope to return next year.

Schöne Lage ideal für die jurassische Küste zu erkunden. Die Unterkunft ist geräumig und die Aussicht war wunderschön. Eine private Terrasse führte auf einen gemeinsamen Garten mit den fünf anderen Land in der Reihe geteilt, die für das Spielen von Fußball und Badminton ideal war. Ein Spaziergang durch die Felder führte zum Weiler Seatown nach unten, der Küste und ein schönes Pub. Das Haus ist gemütlich eingerichtet, mit viel gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Es dauerte etwa 10 Minuten bis zum Parkplatz in Lyme Regis zu fahren.

We had a lovely stay at Eddie's farm. Beautiful surrounds and Eddie gave us some great recommendations. Would definitely recommend.

The Dairy is very secluded - part of a farm with lovely views across the hills. Although farms can be noisy we didn;t hear anything apart from birdsong during our stay. The owner lives on the farm but you have total privacy. Although there is just one bedroom, the cottage is very spacious with a large open plan living room with additional sofa bed and very unusually a lovely piano! The main bed upstairs was very comfortable and the bedroom cosy. Eddie was very thoughtful and friendly, answered our questions very quickly, but otherwise left us to get on with our weekend away. We would definitely come back.

We really loved our stay at Eddies dairy farm, we were welcomed with a lovely cream tea, maps and information about the area. The area is quiet, secluded and peaceful in the hills, it is not really walkable from the town in an evening as the roads are narrow nethertheless we took our puppy here to get away for the weekend and that's exactly what we did! Would definitely recommend.

Lovely quiet accommodation at the end of a pretty lane. Spacious open plan area downstairs, efficient woodburner,comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Very close to the main coastal attractions. Would stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful cottage. It is perfectly located. We could take the back lane through fields straight down to the beach. It's right across from a great pub which has fantastic food for when you've had a long day at the beach and can't be bothered cooking! Even though it's close to a main road there was zero noise once inside. Inside is lovely, all the rooms are a great size. It's really tastefully decorated. It's got charm and we immediately felt at home. Having a garden was perfect for the kids as well. Can't recommend this place enough. It's the idyllic country get away at a steal of a price!

We had a great few days in Nicoke's cottage very cosy and comfortable and a great location for walks and pubs. Also great to have a holiday cottage kitchen with properly sharp knives!

Pound Cottage was a lovely, traditional Dorset cottage. Well equipped and with its own parking it was really easy. Easy walking distance to Seatown beach for a dog walk and fossil hunt. The pub opposite is also great. Good comms with the owner and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts provided easy to follow and accurate instructions for all that we needed. Upon arrival, we were happy to find cookies for us and doggie treats for the doggie...and I was so happy to find coffee and fresh milk in the fridge in the morning:) The house is conveniently situated in a small town, across the street from a decent pub (actually fairly good pub in comparison to some of the other places we ate in the area during our trip!) It is on a main street, so some traffic noise in the house - but not from the bedrooms. House was cozy, comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and well stocked. Location was great for exploring around Dorset and the Jurassic Coast.

Pretty cottage, nicely furnished, and with good local info provided. There are some very good walks in the area, which our dog enjoyed, and you can reach them on foot from the cottage, so mainly didn't use our car.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Pound Cottage! It was the perfect base to explore nearby villages and beaches and the cottage itself had a wonderful feel to it - we felt very at home, as did our dog. Everything is set up to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. From the well stocked kitchen (with plenty of cutlery and crockery) to the bookshelf of Dorset walks - plus good wifi and a TV for down time. The garden is lovely and well tended and we spent happy evenings in front of the wood fire. Other reviewers have mentioned the busy road that the cottage is situated on but this really didn't trouble us at all - we weren't disturbed by traffic noise, and there is off street parking. All in all a very lovely stay, thank you!

A wonderful welcome from Harriet and Mark. Ushered in and immediately made welcome with a much appreciated cup of tea, we felt instantly at home. The room was impeccably decorated and very comfortable, with its own adjacent bathroom. Spotlessly clean and very homely, the facilities were first rate. The breakfast exceeded all expectations, with a fine array of local produce, including jams, cold meat and cheese, all accompanied by hot pastries, fresh tea and coffee, simply wonderful. Mark kindly offered to run us to a local pub, but we made our own way to the Anchor at Seatown on his recommendation.... fantastic food in a seafront pub and a warm welcome there too! All in all, about as good as it gets... thank you Harriet and Mark.

We stayed with Harriet and Mark for one night in order to attend a wedding at The Tithe Barn, Symondsbury, and, although a tad pricey, we really enjoyed everything about it. Harriet and Mark were able to be flexible about when we arrived so we could get ready, and even offered an ironing board if needed. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable; the private bathroom had a fantastic shower in it, and lovely toiletries. It was only a couple minutes walk to the wedding venue, and was very convenient. Breakfast the next morning was a delicious continental breakfast - lots of locally sourced options to enjoy! Harriet and Mark were lovely and helpful hosts; we couldn't have asked for anything much better!

My husband and I had a lovely weekend at Harriet and Marks - the village is gorgeous - with the most friendly neighbours who all welcomed us as we arrived. Both Harriet and Mark were really relaxed and attentive, they couldn't do enough for us. The cottage is every bit the idyllic retreat - after I got over my initial jealousy :) we had a great time, clean, comfortable, with a lovely shower. Sage the kitten is just as friendly as her lovely owners! We wouldn't hesitate to go back!

We had a really relaxing break with Harriet and Mark. They made us feel so welcome and did the most amazing breakfast for us in the morning. The room was large, enough room for our sons travel cot and room to play as well. The bed was really comfy too! The village is very picturesque and easy to get to local attractions in the car. Thanks for having us, we really enjoyed staying with you!

Very welcoming on arrival. We felt a lovely warm atmosphere and it was as if we had known them before. The house was clean, stylish and a good size room with private bathroom. A gorgeous setting and helpful neighbour to assist with parking. The village is beautiful and walks nearby can be managed without having to drive. Symondsbury Xmas Fayre was a true delight. I would recommend to anyone. Nothing seemed to much trouble. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The pictures already show that the house and the room are really nice and comfortable. But in reality it is so much more: The Spirit of Harriet and Mark makes this place really a home for a night. It´s like visiting friends..Thanks so much for everything! Stay as you are! By the way: the breakfast was fantastic! We surely will return, whenever we´re around.

Lovely B&B, very welcoming and relaxing. The village is lovely and quiet with a cute pub. The B&B hosts are excellent and provide a great escape location. Would go back again.

Great location for walking to coastal and inland walks. Really lovely cottage so fresh and new with all you need.

This modern, well-equipped accommodation suited us perfectly as a base to walk part of the South West coast path. Attractive location (though the A35 can be a car park through Chideock!) and a visit to Felicity's Farm Shop across the road is a MUST! Chris has expertly planned and equipped the 'barn conversion'; you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful family house, sensibly and flexibly designed, in a tranquil village. The lounge, with its large open fire is a haven, it seemed to promote relaxation - hygge I think it's called these days! Plus stunning walks of all varieties and difficulty, coastal, woods, hills etc.. There's a pub just down the road - literally - it's an amusing uphill stagger if you overdo it a bit... All in all it ticks all the spots, highly recommended.

The house was absolutely fabulous. Above our expectations - even though it looked good on the Airbnb site. Would highly recommend and would love to go back there.

What a fantastic house! Plenty of space for us 7 adults. Not only in terms of sleeping arrangements, but also an abundance of communal space to relax in. Within easy reach of lots of great places and the best part is the view from the house itself. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to explore Dorset.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home, which really does have amazing views. The perfect place to mix country and costal activities. We felt we had everything we needed for our stay, and it was a really great place to get away from the hustle and bustle. It was perfectly situated for Lyme Regis and would book again without hesitation.

Isla's house was so warm and welcoming - beautifully decorated and absolutely stunning views. We had a wonderful few days deep in the Dorset countryside and only wished we'd stayed for longer.

The place was lovely, the one comment I would make to prospective guests is that the pictures do NOT do the house justice. It is much nicer in person. The pictures are lovely but the house is perfect. The host is friendly and quick to respond to queries, and even left us a bottle of wine as a welcome gift! 10/10 cannot recommend enough.

Beautiful, spacious, light and comfortable cottage. It was a delightful place to stay and our hosts prepared it perfectly for us. They left a huge selection of CDs and DVDs for us to borrow and a wonderful selection of toys which our son loved playing with.

I found the accommodation to be first class and the whole experience was great from start to finish. A beautiful spot with amazing walks, the perfect relaxing break.

We had a wonderful spring holiday at Veronica’s house. This is an absolutely special place, quite and peaceful. There are a plenty of nice places around for walking, discovering and long drinks on a seaside. The view from the house over the sea and the countryside is magnificent. The hostess and her family are very friendly, helpful and polite. We recommend this place for anyone and for the families that wish to explore the countryside of South of England. The place for staying is clean, stylish and functional.

The perfect seaside getaway

Our family had the most incredible stay and Sophy and John's wonderful home. The pictures really do not do justice to the view. You feel completely at one with your surroundings with sightings of deer, bird of prey, cows and sheep. The children loved spotting new wildlife when they woke in the morning. The house while great for kids has lots to offer adults too. The kitchen is about the most well equipped domestic one I have had the pleasure to spend time in. Cooking was a complete joy. We loved exploring the Dorset coastline fossil hunting with a great local expert, eating delicious seafood and walking the coastal paths. We hated packing up and leaving such a wonderful home behind.

Gorgeous little cottage, homely, clean and very well equipped. Contact with the owner was good throughout, with a very helpful map and instructions provided before arrival and an email the day after arrival asking if everything was ok (a contact number was provided in case of any problems). Very comfortable beds and high quality linens. Perfect for an autumn break as the real fire and extensive DVD collection was an absolute treat, would love to return in the summer, when the planned outdoor decking is completed, to make the most of the amazing views. Having the pub next door was an added bonus - no noise at all, good food and a friendly welcome (cottage and pub, both dog friendly). Fantastic location to explore the Dorset coast and close enough to Devon for a day out too. Highly recommend.

What a lovely cottage! Gorgeous views from the house (even in February!) and a short walk to the quiet beach and the scenic coastal path. All the home comforts and a lovely surprise gift from the host! We were very glad of the log fire and we had cosy nights in after spectacular walks during the day. The pub next door serves delicious food. Highly recommended.

We had a delightful stay at Susan's cottage. It is perfectly located for exploring the Jurassic Coast and in a sweet village. The cottage itself is very well equipped, and had everything we needed. It is beautifully maintained, with lots of original features. Susan was very swift in her responses and easy to deal with. She made the arrival procedures very simple. I would certainly consider staying here again.

A fantastically located cottage full of charm with great access to seatown and surrounding attractions. Fantastic farm shop just down the road and the anchor pub is highly recommended.

This cottage was so perfect. And so were the hosts. We needed a long weekend away from the city and it was a peaceful spot nestled in the hills of Dorset, not far from the sea. Lots of walking nearby, though we spent a lot of time just at the cottage and in the neighborhood because it was so quiet and cozy. Sophie and Tony were kind and generous hosts. They were available and knowledgeable about the area, but also left us on our own to explore and relax. It's a special place. We will definitely be back!

The cottage is absolutely gorgeous! Ellie and I felt at home straight away, it's so comfortable and well kitted out! The bed is incredibly comfy too, we slept like logs! Tony gave us great advice r.e local walks, places to eat and the best beaches to check out...Invaluable. The area is stunning, dorset really is incredibly beautiful. Overall this was one of the best holidays we've been on and we're desperate to vome back

We were welcomed to a pre-heated cottage with a basket full of necessities. The cottage is immaculate and in a lovely part of the world, really comfy and cosy. Definitely recommend.

We were made to feel very welcome at the cottage which was made easy to find by Sophie's helpful map. The cottage was clean and nicely presented without being fussy or pretentious. It was warm and cosy and the bed was extremely comfortable (an important feature when you're in need of replenishing your batteries) the little welcome basket with a nice gesture too. It's Secluded without feeling isolated,rural but within easy reach of nearby Bridport and Lyme Regis and the coastal walks and beaches. Our dog was also very happy there in the cottages own, fenced off, garden. We would defiantly return as it is an ideal base for all sorts of activities afforded in the local area. Thank you Sophie and Tony, the relaxed and homely feeling you've created at the cottage really has helped us to come home refreshed and ready to face the world again.

The cottage was fantastic. The kitchen and bedrooms were lovely. The cottage was in a great location with walk and Lyme Regis and Bridport within a max 20min drive. Tony was a great host! He gave us some great recommendations for walks and pubs to look at. We are already planning to go back as 3 days just wasn't enough.

What a beautiful cottage and area. We loved the location, it was perfect for day hiking and enjoying the Jurassic Coast. We were greeted with a nice fresh loaf of bread, cookies and some local finds- really charming.The cottage was peaceful, clean, fully stocked with every chefs required pots/utensils/plates and sharp chopping knives (thank you!). There is a beautiful horse on the property that loves to eat apples that drop from the tree right outside the bathroom window. The bedroom of the cottage was upstairs and had a huge skylight to see the stars at night. We loved this cottage and hope to stay here again!

Das Haus ist charmant, die Site ruhige und unsere terrier liebte die Farm und die Freiheit der Felder zu. Perfekte Versteck für zwei bequem zu Fuß auf das Meer bei Charmouth - der überdachten Terrasse war ideal in der warmen Herbstabend - nur besser durch die Zugabe sein ein kleiner Holzofen in der Hütte, die gemacht haben, würde dies zu bleiben Ausnahme

The pictures really do not do the interior of the cottage justice. You can see a lot of thought and effort has been put in to the cottage to make visitors stay as comfortable as possible right down to the welcome basket of local yogurt, jam, biscuits and of course tea and milk. needed after a long drive. Tony, Sophies partner was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the local area giving great advice for walks and restaurants to visit. Which when phone reception and Internet connection are limited (good news when getting away from it all) prove invaluable. we'll definitely be staying again and are already planning our next trip, maybe as soon as November!
