Situated in the peace and tranquillity of the African bush, Toad Tree Cabins at Sodwana Bay offers a comfortable, relaxing stay in our en-suite (open-air) budget lodging for scuba divers, fishermen and holiday makers. The 2 or 3 sleeper en-suite cabins share a fully equipped self-catering kitchen and lounge in the boma, attached to the splash pool. All the units have their own bathrooms with hot and cold running water and are serviced once a day. They have plug points, with fans, electronic mosquito repellents and linen. There is a splash pool to cool you down after a hot, hot morning on the beach.
The African sunset sees you sipping sundowners beside the pool, or exchanging tales around the camp fire, watching the sparks fly into the dusk, the only sound the sizzling of meat on the braai, a log shifting in the flames and the occasional beat of an African drum.

In order to protect the sand dunes, no lodging overlooks the beach or the sea and wherever you stay at Sodwana Bay, you will have to drive to the beach. There is a Capitec Bank and various ATM’s at Mbazwana. There are no Pharmacies or fast food outlets, but there is a SPAR and 2 other supermarkets at Mbazwana. There are 4 Bar/Restaurants, a Disco and Coffee Shop in the village and a Take-Away on the beach.
THINGS TO DO IN SODWANA
The nature loving visitor can partake in scuba diving, snorkeling or pleasure cruises with us at Sea Escapes, beach and bush walks, quad biking, hiking, surfing, boogie boarding, swimming, Microlight flips, fishing trips, turtle trips and canoe trips on Muzi pans. You can visit the reptile farm and drive through one of the surrounding BIG 5 game reserves.
Toad Tree Cabins is within an hours’ drive from some of the world renowned Game reserves of South Africa, namely Mkuze, Ndumu, Phinda, Hluhluwe and Tembe Elephant Park. The nearby Mkuze Game Reserve is known for its antelope including vast numbers of the endangered nyala, and just recently two male cheetah, and 3 male lion have been introduced into the park. The birdlife in northern Kwa-Zulu Natal is the best SA has to offer and is truly a bird lover paradise. The Big 5 Hluhluwe/Umfolozi National Park is a 96000 hectare park which is over 100 years old and the 2nd most popular park in the country. The park is known for its extensive rhino population and has a tremendous variety of flora and fauna within its borders and includes the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino).
