“Maki on Fifth brings a breath of fresh air to all the endless number of sushi joints clamoring for attention on the Japanese heavy Thong Lor dining scene. The restaurant pays homage to Chicago style fusion maki sushi rolls.”

“Khao Tom Fifty Fifth (a.k.a. 55 Pochana) Khao tom means rice soup in Thais, and khao tom shop usually serves up spicy Thai salad and Thai-Chinese dishes to go with the rice soup (or plain rice) and a bottle of chilled beer. 55 Pochana is sitting on the mouth of Soi Thonglor, on Sukhumvit Road toward Ekamai. Pochana 55 is a plainly decorated simple and cheap streetside restaurant that has been serving thousands of customers for over 20 years. The restaurant now serves up several varieties of sizzling iron platter fish and beef dishes, and hundreds of other Thai Chinese favorites, all of them guaranteed to please. The tom yam here is a benchmark to set the standard for Thailand's most famous soup. During the rainy season, make sure to try the dok krachon "little flower" salad. 55 is constantly mentioned by locals as one of Bangkok's most consistently good restaurants ."With its new renovations, it can be hard to get a table here. Be prepared to sit outside, wait, or else best to come here after 8:15, when it quiets down a bit and local workers head home." For consistently great Thai-Chinese fare at local price Khao Tom Fifty Fifth **** Sukhumvit Road, corner of Soi Thonglor Wattana, Bangkok 10110 Tel.: 02.391.2021 Open daily 7pm - 4 am For consistent good local food at great prices, Pochana 55 is always one of Bangkok's best choices. It's near BTS Thong Lor station or you can take a taxi, it's just next street from 39 suite.”

“Probably the most famous stall in Sukhumvit Soi 38's nightly street food market, Pad Thai Fire Look dishes out delectable pad Thai and other quick-fried noodle dishes that attract a wide mix of locals, expats and travellers. The nightly food market opens from 5PM to 1AM.”

“ Thai idea of European home cooking. This whole entire restaurant is run by one single person. Miss Ink does everything from cooking, serving to cleaning up. Therefore the retired stock broker with a passion for food offers only a tiny menu and you have to bring your own booze. Her lamb chops are legendary. My favorite is Mentaiko Pasta with fish roe. It is a very private place, friends of friends go there. Call ahead: 02 381 6788 Walking distance”
