Moreton-in-Marsh is one of the principal market towns in the North Cotswolds, situated on the Fosse Way and served by the main line railway from London Paddington. The town was granted its market charter in 1227 and there still is a busy Tuesday market, with about 200 stalls attracting many visitors. Moreton has been a traveller's town for at least 1700 years and was used as a coaching station before the coming of the Oxford to Worcester railway in 1853. The oldest building is likely to be the 16th century Curfew tower on the High Street, whose bell was rung nightly until 1860 to remind people of the risk of fire. The High Street has many elegant 17th and 18th century inns and houses, including the Redesdale Market Hall in the centre of the town. Food & Drink Moreton has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample of the range of options available: Redesdale Arms (www.redesdalearms.com): Menus at the Redesdale Arms Hotel are a blend of modern international cooking and traditional British favourites, delicious when given a contemporary twist by the team in the kitchen. Eat in one of the refurbished restaurants, on the garden terrace or in the bar next to the log fires. The finest local ingredients are used, including Cotswold meat and locally grown vegetables, with daily specials including local game and fresh Cornish seafood. The White Hart Royal (www.whitehartroyal.co.uk): The kitchen team use fresh local ingredients to produce cuisine that is contemporary English a la carte or traditional pub classic. To complement the menus there is an extensive cellar of specially selected new and old world wines. You can dine in the Courtyard Restaurant, al fresco in the courtyard or enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Snug Bar with its stone-flagged floor and large Inglenook fireplace; The Spice Room (www.spiceroomrestaurant.com): The Spice Room Restaurant is a family-owned and family-operated Indian Restaurant, with over 12 years of experience cooking and serving the best and tastiest Indian cookery. All the food is made to order with the freshest ingredients. Moreton has a Tesco Express, a Budgens and a Co-op for regular food purchases and, for a special treat, there are a number of delicatessens specialising in local produce, including: The Cotswold Cheese Company (www.cotswoldcheese.com): The store stocks more than 80 different artisan and farmhouse cheeses, with a real focus on local quality producers, followed by British territorial cheese (Cheshires, Lancashires, Caerphilly etc.) and then focussing on very high quality French, Spanish & Italian cheese. To complement the cheese, the store also sells a wide range of cheese accompaniments and other deli essentials including local breads, biscuits & crackers for cheese, chutneys & local potted meats and pate's.

Not a country cottage so no low ceilings, dark rooms and draughts..just well insulated and thoughtfully designed cabin with large windows to take advantage of the views. Definitely not glamping either as full facilities. Not located on a picture postcard street, just in large garden at end of quiet cul de sac but with main road running behind cabin. No struggle to find parking as ample space in own courtyard. Priced so I can afford to include all the little extras that guests value.
Visiting on own or as a couple then enjoy Super King bed but easily splits into twins. Space in bedroom for cot and single folding bed or double inflatable mattress available for use in Sitting Room. Might be a bit cosy but great if only for a night or two. I have furnished in shabby chic style but with quality items all repurposed to create comfortable but functional environment. Love this quote left in visitor book "You close the door behind you and you've entered a secluded little retro world" You want a bit of peace and quiet well that is relative as most of my guests are escaping town life so find it very tranquil and scarcely notice road that runs at back of property. Others notice at first but soon realise view is more of a distraction especially when dining alfresco or enjoying the stars due to village Dark Sky status. Do remind guests that will need a torch when walking back from excellent Red Lion as no street lights. Having family members with disabilities I am aware of problems finding suitable accommodation so have designed with that in mind - not the complete set up but Octogenarian wheelchair bound friend stayed and he and wife found perfect for their needs. No sumptuous cottage garden - I'm the gardener so have to be realstic. Managed to save a few mature trees during build process in 2015 and much new planting that will be magnificent in couple of years but in meantime my natural border does include grasses and thistles as after all a weed is only a plant in wrong place and bees and butterflies love. Also have bird feeders and nesting box just outside bedroom window and blue tits particuarly love. Have thought about privacy carefully as their are occupants in main property but layout has been thought through to ensure everyone has own space without infringement on others enjoyment. Have had usual trials with IT but now have cabled connection to router and reliable service. Though most of my guests seem to really enjoy 'turning phones off' and listening to late Aunt's eclectic vinyl collection on multi media player. Similarly there is a TV but not dominant plasma screen just one discreetly tucked into corner. Have had guests for long term stays so always happy to discuss options if you need a base while working away or if between house sales.
Little Bulpits (field for Bulls) was Old English field name of field before development and hence unusual name for this property. Long Compton is a charming Cotswold Village located in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and excellent walking area (MacMillan Way). On A3400 with Oxford and Stratford on Avon both 20 miles. The Rollright Stones are located on edge of parish. There is a well stocked village shop 5 minutes walk away and popular village pub 10 minutes walk. Local towns are Chipping Norton, Moreton in Marsh and Shipston on Stour. Whichford Pottery, Cotswold Distillery and Hook Norton Brewery located in neighbouring villages. Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold, Daylesford Farm Shop, Blenheim Palace and Compton Verney Art Gallery are both within half an hours drive

Studio apartment in character, period coach house. Light, airy open plan studio with superking bed (or 2 singles), comfortable lounge and kitchen area. Walking distance to town and station and backing onto open fields.
The Coach House studio is an ideal base for couples or friends, from which to explore the Cotswolds. Situated just a short walk from Moreton High Street it is tucked away and private, yet close enough to walk into town and grab a coffee or lunch at one of the many cafes and pubs. The space is a large, open plan first floor studio accessed via a downstairs lobby room where you can leave muddy coats and wellies if you've been out walking. The shower room is also situated downstairs. It is comfortably equipped with everything you need for a weekend stay, or longer, and there is a large library of art books and novels for keen readers. The kitchen area is fully equipped with a mini oven, hob, fridge, and plenty of crockery and pans if you wish to cook for yourself. Moreton in Marsh is a typical Cotswold town with honey coloured stone buildings. There is a weekly market on Tuesday and the High Street has a range of shops and cafes. There are numerous walks heading out of town and a short walk across fields will take you to the local farm shop where you can buy fantastic home produced bacon, sausages and eggs for breakfast, or get a delicious latte. Batsford Arboretum and Falconry are both within walking distance, and there is The Horse and Groom (an award winning pub) just up the road in Bourton on the Hill. Moreton is a great place to explore the Cotswolds from - Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold, Chipping Norton, Broadway and Bourton on the Water are all within easy reach.

A cosy Shepherd Hut, named Ronald, set in 60 acres of tranquil Cotswold countryside. Glamping at its finest with all the comforts of home in the great outdoors. Conveniently located 5 minutes drive from Moreton in Marsh, with direct train links to Oxford and London. Durhams Farm is home to over 30 much-loved horses and ponies. Horse riding experiences are available whilst you stay. The perfect location for couples, adventurers and equine enthusiasts.
Camping may not be at the top of everyone’s list during the winter months but Ronald is a very reasonable alternative. We’ve kitted him out with hot and cold running water, heating and electricity too, so you can relax and enjoy all of the comforts of home, in the great outdoors. Ronald has a comfy fitted double bed, with storage underneath and all of your bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchenette is stocked with crockery and cutlery, a kettle, an electric single hob, toaster, fridge and sink. There is private seating outside your hut with beautiful views surrounding. Great for stargazing and the sunsets at the farm are beautiful. During the winter months, radiators will be added to keep you warm. There is a heated shower room a short walk (25metres) from the Huts in a blue cabin. Here, guests have shared (max 4 guests at any one time) access to a shower, WC and sink. Ideal for couples, friends and solo travellers! We have two huts available at Durhams - great for group trips! Apologies, we do not accept bookings for young children (under 10) and/or pets. Wifi is not available in the Hut but can be accessed on the farm all day. Visit the riding school reception to connect your device.
Our Shepherd Hut is set in a stunning part of the Cotswolds within easy reach of picturesque towns such as Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold. Stratford upon Avon, Cheltenham and Warwick are both within a 40 minute drive. There are miles of bridleways and footpaths to explore in the surrounding area and some great local pubs and restaurants. Daylesford Organic is 3 miles away too and well worth a visit whilst you stay.

Come to our spotlessly clean cottage, up a long driveway, totally private and peaceful and relax in peace and total comfort and peace of mind. You will be able to arrive without any checkin, no contact with anyone, and you can relax in the middle of the most beautiful countryside location. In the middle of nowhere!. Discover the local beautiful Cotswold area. On our doorstep is Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh and all the local Cotswold villages
Our Cottage has three double bedrooms and a very large bathroom with shower and bath. There is a large kitchen and large sitting room with television including DVD player. The cottage is immaculately clean, and during these times it is perfect for a home from home experience, deep in the countryside and you will have total privacy. For larger numbers of guests there is a one bedroomed cottage that sleeps 2 people less than 10 paces opposite which is let separately. The Cottage has a garden to enjoy. Supper or dinners available upon request, all homemade. A very warm welcome awaits. For weekends I book for 4-6 guests rather than smaller numbers as we sleep 6 but for guests of only 4 - I would require a minimum of 2 night stay over weekend unless prior arrangement with Jo
We live closest to the beautiful Cotswold town of Chipping Campden, with Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold close by too. You should not miss Broadway either! We are also close to Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon and Cheltenham

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

The property is located just off Moreton-in-Marsh high street, a short 5-6 mins walk to both the town and mainline station, that provides a frequent and direct service to London Paddington in ~90 minutes.
Conveniently located in the bustling market town of Moreton-in-Marsh, Cotswold Corner House is just a 5 minute walk from the well-regarded pubs, restaurants, a plethora of shops (antiques, home interior, art galleries and charity) and cafes the town has to offer. Straddling the ancient Fosse Way, the town (locally known as 'Moreton') was once an important staging post, and this is reflected in the impressive architecture that still remains. There are a number of handsome coaching inns dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, some of which acted as the inspiration for Tolkein's "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings", and in the centre of the town stands the Redesdale Market Hall, a prominent feature on the high street. Every Tuesday the town plays host to the largest open-air street market in the Cotswolds, with 200 stalls selling everything from delicious local produce to leather goods and clothing. The town also has football and cricket grounds with regular fixtures, and adjacent to the latter there stands the Queen Victoria Gardens, a well-maintained park complete with children’s playground. Located in the Evenlode Valley, Moreton is surrounded by the fantastic countryside of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with many walks and cycle routes on its doorstep to explore. The Monarch’s Way long distance walking trail passes through the town on towards Batsford Arboretum and the picturesque village of Blockley, home to two popular pubs and a community owned village shop and café. Moreton benefits from having a train station with direct links to London, Oxford and Birmingham, and there are good bus links to the much-loved locations of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden and Broadway. Further afield destinations such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace and Cheltenham can also be easily accessed for day trips.
