These are what I consider to be the top tier restaurants in Syracuse. You can not go wrong with any of these if you can get a table.
Great food and atmosphere. Outdoor deck/patio is busy during the summer. You can boat up and park while you eat/drink. Part of the Oakwood Resort, the best hotel in Syracuse.

Food worth the drive
All of these restaurants are outside of Syracuse, but if you are looking to take a drive, these are excellent places to eat.
A relatively new restaurant in Nappanee, IN that brews its own beer and distills its own liquor. It has a menu that feels more at home in a larger city, but still maintains small town prices. Great drinks and interesting food choices.

A true Oasis in Northern Indiana, this Goshen restaurant focuses on fresh, farm ingredients and the explosion of tastes is great. I highly recommend the steak salad.

Nearby attractions or things to do when either the weather is not cooperating, or you want to explore.
Community members have been working for years to create a trail around both lakes in town, Lake Syracuse and Lake Wawasee. The most recent part of the trail was just completed over the wetlands to the right of my house. Turn right on my sidewalk to take you to Lake Syracuse and turn left to take you to the Wawasee Conservancy and further to the end of the trail.

Right across the street is Lakeside Park which is the only public beach in Syracuse. There is a gazebo, picnic tables, beach volley ball, and a beach into Lake Syracuse. Great for kids but no dogs.

Travel back in time to an old-timey movie theatre with the real popcorn and butter and the one movie that plays about 2 months after it played everywhere else, but I love it. Great for kids.
