Great Thai, Vietnamese and Lao dishes. Be sure to get the avocado spring rolls! $5 Pho for lunch is a great idea, too. Their real name is Rose Garden. Not much ambience here, but it's close and yummy and affordable. They close at 9p (like most restaurants in Redding). Open M-Sat.

Ok, so all the tourists go there, but it really is a great place to take a walk. The bridge itself is lovely and it connects up with the Sacramento River Trail, a lovely paved trail that continues on 17 miles up to Shasta Dam

In addition to being a great place to get your photo of "The Three Shastas" (Lake Shasta, Mount Shasta and Shasta Dam), the visitor's center offers free tours of the Dam itself. The history of the construction of this wonder is really pretty interesting. Did you know the concrete inside the dam is still wet?!

Super beautiful waterfall - really unique. Not much hiking required. Absolutely worth the drive!
