You’ll be within 30 minutes of the best that High Country has to offer. Winters can be spent skiing at Sugar and Beech mountain while still having a quiet space of your own. Summer hiking is fantastic at the popular Profile trail, Grandfather Mountain or Otter Falls. Or just take in the amazing long range views from your deck and relax for your stay.

Catch dinner off the back deck! cabin located directly on the Watauga River. Great to fall asleep to the sound of the running river! 10 minutes to Boone, 10 minutes to Sugar Mountain. Community has hiking trails, a heated pool, tennis and basketball courts! We disinfect all surfaces and bleach all linens in between stays!

Sunbear also has high-speed internet for remote work and a backup generator. Cooler months offer backcountry hiking along creeks chocked with waterfalls off the eastern flank of the cabin. Summer features wildlife, Fireflies, and a nice quiet place to escape the summer heat.
