Hungry Mother Island is a unique three bedroom cabin on its own island surrounded by Hungry Mother Creek at Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, VA. Located off the Back of the Dragon Trail & bordered by Hungry Mother State Park along with George Washington & Jefferson National Forest. Nearby multiple wilderness areas, superb mountain stream fishing, small lake fishing, swimming area & beach, wildlife management areas & miles of trails offer tons of natural amenities and outdoor opportunities.

NO CLEANING FEES. NO TO DO LISTS BEFORE CHECKING OUT. NO PET FEES. Cozy, private one room cottage (with bathroom), run by a loving, easy-going, non-judging family. Cottage measures 12' x 24' (total of 288sq. feet). Very relaxed environment. Flat rate of $50.00. UPDATE: Deck is now enclosed with old window panes. Super cozy. Has a sink with hot/old water, a hot plate, large toaster oven, and utensils. I am am still putting finishing touches on it, but available for use. Pictures soon.

Once a garage used to restore old cars, now lovingly restored as an open-concept Airbnb! Enjoy all that Southwest Virginia has to offer from this convenient location, only a short 1,000 foot bike ride to the Virginia Creeper Trail and minutes from Downtown Damascus and Abingdon. A foodie’s delight and a hiker’s paradise!

The Barn House property is located directly on the Virginia Creeper Trail and right on the river! This unit is the downstairs to the main house. It is a spacious studio area with microwave and mini fridge, no kitchen. The unit has a separate entrance and is located on a side road with low traffic. There is a large yard across the street where kids can play! Directly bordering the yard is the Virginia Creeper Trail. Easily ride your bike to downtown Damascus or the Damascus brewery!

Relax around the campfire, hike or bike the many trails, lounge on the beach with a good book, or cast your line to catch a big one! Enjoy the beautiful views of the Appalachian mountains while paddleboarding or kayaking Hungry Mother Lake. Don't forget to go shopping or sample the restaurants of America's Coolest Hometown! Resting on an acre of land and right off I 81 enjoy your stay in our cozy, country cottage.
