Old Council Chambers-Chambers 1

Originally built in 1884 as the Municipal Council building, it was also used as the Town Hall and the Scout Hall. After Several renovations and changes of use the Chambers is now home to two individual self contained studio apartments, which can be either booked separately or booked together. Luxury fittings, bedding and appliances feature throughout both chambers. The town's largest strongroom, built within the chambers in 1939, has been rebirthed as a unique luxury bathroom in Chambers 1.

In 1939 the Council Chambers got a major overhaul, adding an art deco facade and a grand chamber room, as well as offices for the town clerk and health engineer. This side of the building has been restored as the Chambers 2 suite which houses a seperate bedroom (with its own fireplace), kitchen, dining and lounge area and an additional fireplace . A deep, freestanding bath is the centrepiece of the large luxury bathroom in the room next door.
