Palatka is a rugged town with areas of distress and has taken longer to recover from recession. It has been identified as one of the poorest counties in the state of Florida. However, the people are quite friendly. There are numerous antiques stores and several great restaurants. Home is located blocks from St. Johns River and Ravine Gardens.
