Natural clay cliff formations, follow signs for directions

Just a short drive towards Omarama you will find these clay cliffs, very cool. Lots of movies are filmed here.

Amazing scenery and you can park quite close and walk amongst these clay cliffs for a unique experience. Not far from twizel you head on the road towards Omarama and look out for the sign to turn right that says Clay Cliffs. Small donation at gate for road access so please take a little cash.

If you're heading to Omarama you need to add an hour to your itinerary to stop off to visit these stunning cliffs.They are 10k off the main highway ( 5 k on gravel roads) and on private land. The $5 entry fee may be the best value for anything in New Zealand. Hike the short half mile trail through the cliffs to get absolutely stunning views and pictures.
