Go past River Canyon Park via pine street to get to the gravel Irrigation trail. You can follow this 1.5 miles. Take the first major trail to your left to get down to the Deschutes River Trail. Turn right on the River trail to head towards the Old Mill. Cross Reed Market road at the cross walk to get to Farewell Bend Park. Turn right at onto the park trail to head towards the Old Mill.

This is a great location to get access to the Deschutes River Trail, just park on Pine Dr and walk down to through the gate (there is a warning sign to let you know its a private road for canal worker access, but public walking is allowed)
