In the Bywater on Piety and Burgundy. Great neighborhood to walk around, maybe combined with a sunset walk in Crescent Park. Mostly vegan restaurant, and one of my favorites places to eat in the city. Great bar program. This place has really reasonably priced, locally-sourced, food with a focus on vegetables and vegan dishes, but with a few rotating meat dishes. They become a fancier restaurant at night called Bar Brine. Just as wonderful and their daytime iteration.

Amazing Gem tucked in the Bywater before reaching the Lower Ninth Ward serves all.The upbeat and relaxed atmosphere combined with the ever-changing specials menu and rotating local ingredients aims to encourage vegans and meat eaters to enjoy their meals together. Everyone is welcome at the Sneaky Pickle!

Sometimes after eating poboys and beignets for days, you start to crave something on the healthy side. My favorite is the "bowl of food" - a rotating mix of fresh vegetables, grains, that always tastes delicious. Lots of options for vegans, vegetarian, and gluten-free - but they can also add meat to pretty much anything you order.
