An historic cottage in a sheltered dell in the country near Makara Beach, fully restored Te whare iti is 10-15 minutes walk from the rugged Makara coast and roughly 35 minutes from the Wellington CBD. The preserved exterior enfolds very clean, warm and comfortable modern amenities. Importantly- you must provide your own transport as there is no public transport to Makara from Karori the nearest suburb, some 9.5 kms away. Makara is true NZ countryside with a windy, narrow road to match!.

Enjoy a stay on our Martinborough vineyard. The cottage is nestled amongst the vines and offers a peaceful retreat from the city. We are 8 kilometres from the centre of Martinborough heading south on the way to Lake Ferry. You can enjoy a leisurely wine tasting at our cellar door with David who is always happy to talk wine. We will also transport you to Martinborough so that you can spend the day investigating local wineries or dine at one of the town's fine restaurants.

Rose Cottage is sheltered and sunny with changing vibrant water views across Lyall Bay and down to Cook Strait. A short stroll to the beach and water activities. Lyall Bay has Iconic cafes boasting excellent food and a sea vista, shopping complexes nearby. It is on the coastal sightseeing route with numerous beaches, excellent walks and sea life seen throughout the year. Approximately a 5 minute drive from the airport and Wellington city 15 minutes.
