Ample parking Perfect for exploring the wildlife of the Solway Coast, Carlisle, Scotland, and the Lake District which is an easy 30min drive.

Well equipped cottage. Comfortable, private, peaceful. There's a very comfortable double bed in the bedroom, and a quality sofa bed in the living room (please request additional bedding, £10). The kitchen is fully equipped, including a 6kg washer/dryer. Off-road parking outside the cottage. Secure bike storage - just ask! No beams or open fires. Just clean, comfortable, with everything needed for a peaceful stay. Please note, there is a bath with shower over - not a cubicle with power-shower.

Belonging to the 17th century Grade II listed High Greenrigg House, it offers all the modern conveniences whilst retaining the character of such an historic building. The ground floor contains an open plan living room, dining area and fully fitted kitchen. There is a utility room accessed via a low stone doorframe. Upstairs is a mezzanine floor with king size bed, balcony and luxurious shower room

The hut has no electricity but has solar lights, and a separate composting toilet, all bed linen is provide along with wood for the stove. The pod is perfect for walkers and cyclists who wish to explore the local footpaths and country lanes. Local town is less than a 5 minute drive away! Our peaceful glamping pod near Wigton, Cumbria is ideally located for the Tour de France UK stages in July 2027, with Carlisle and the Lake District stages within easy reach.

Hovel House Shed

The Shed has been custom built, in the paddock, near my small barn conversion. It has a homely atmosphere, with vintage furnishings and up-cycled items. Where possible I’ve tried to be eco friendly. This is a quiet, tranquil place with beautiful views of the Scottish hills beyond the Solway Firth. It’s part of a small hamlet and my former family farm. Animals are often kept in the fields next to The Shed. You’ll experience stunning sunsets and starry skies.
