And rather than being a dreaded experience, the attached bathroom with epic views is one of the best features!

The surrounding nature provides a stunning and peaceful refuge. You feel as though you're a million miles away. And yet town is only a 5 minute drive, allowing access to anything you might need during your stay. We consider our land a sacred, healing place. Before we built on this property we gave special homage to the Native peoples, and asked for blessings from the spirits to live here. We have discovered grinding rocks, shards of Chinese pottery, and ancient fire pits on the land.

Camp Earnest King Yurt in Twain Harte

Welcome to Camp Earnest, a 21 acre former summer camp tucked into the Sierras in northern California, about 140 miles east of SF. You'll be staying in one of our brand new cozy yurts tucked into the trees and the hillside. Camp Earnest sits in a ponderosa, cedar and manzanita forest, with light snow in the winter and mild summers. We have a year round creek and hikes right off our property. Nearby are Dodge Ridge Ski Area, Pinecrest Lake, Calaveras Big Trees SP & Yosemite NP.

Guest, Thor Arnold 2024 Yosemite Shuteye is as it sounds; a most private out-of-the-way delight of two parts - the yurt connected by cedar decking to a hand-hewn cookhouse with an airy 3/4-bath and a fully stocked kitchen. A seasonal fire pit is a favorite place to star gaze and eat smores to your hearts content. Quiet and very comfortable. The space is yours and yours alone. Very private and not shared!

Our gated community offers a convenient location near everything, and our guests have been loving the breathtaking views of the sunsets, stars, ocean breeze, and off-grid feeling. You can enjoy the entire Yurt located right by our baby lavender fields, which features a covered patio, "outdoor shower" (actually inside), and a modern compost toilet in the attached restroom by the door.
